Hired to do some maintenance. However there were hardly any tools, no direction, and was blamed for things far beyond my control.
Management gave conflicting directions, it was exhausting to try to satisfy them. Ruthless work environment, anger was often displayed by management inappropriately. Workplace culture was laughable. 
Hardest part of the job was dealing with management-asking for supplies to do the job and being denied, yet expected to get the job done. 
Only enjoyable part of the job was actually getting a chance to do a job well with the parts/supplies that got ordered and came in on time. 
What I learned?  I do not recommend working here if you have any sense of self respect.

A typical day at Shercom was eight hours of work a day, alongside with great and lovely coo-workers. What i learned at Shercom was respect, discipline and most important safety. Good management and lovely staff. Ill say the hardest part of the job is something common with all other fields of work around, and the most enjoyable part is having a coo-worker who assist you in all you do.

Bad safty record, unsafe conditions. Recently laid off due to the fire which was 100% preventible, management doesn't care about cleanliness.
Soon after I started, someone died on night shift. Some safty improvements after that, but not enough being done to keep us safe.
No raise after fijishing my first year. Other workers were nice to work with.

Never again..they have no safety, after i showed the OH&S legislation showing the needed a windshield replaced on the excavator used to drop tires into the shredder, they layed me off saying i wasnt a good fit. Then when i went for EI, shercom told them i was "fired" for cursing on the job. They're a sketchy company and they make sure they hire ppl who don't buck for safety.

Working at Shercom has been an extremely good experience.  There is a lot of history in the company and like anyone else they have made mistakes.  They learn from their mistakes and the culture there is much like a family.  Management cares a great deal for all employees and the work is satisfying as it also helps save the environment.  Cool products and great atmosphere. 

I have worked here for about 2.5 years.  The company is rapidly growing and always producing product.  
Overall there is very good teamwork here and it is a fun place to work. 
Definitely not the place to work if you just want to stand around.  

Lots to do and lots of opportunity to learn new skills across lots of different job types.

This company is growing and there are lots of different shifts available in different areas.  Workers are expected to participate in the safety program.  If you work hard, there are chances to be trained and move up in the company.

was a very good company to work for however it was seasonal and the following years was just straight commission easn't enough
i can and am still involved with shercom if i want to however the commission structure isn't enough

The work load and work environment were great the only big downside was the lack ways to move up in the company. Basically really enjoyed working there would still be there I'd it didn't burn down

lack of safety, plant not plan well, but despite of that. good co workers and management. hardest part of the job is when i am in graveyard shift, and the most enjyable part is christmas party.
