I would never recomend being a flight attendant especially for this company. As you may know flight attendants aren't paid to do safety checks, we aren't paid between flights, we aren't paid for the time it takes us to get through security, and for those who don't know we are not paid to clean the plane. We are only paid from when the door shuts to when it opens upon arrival. So that means if your flight is an hour and a half we only get paid for an hour and a half. We have up to 4 flights a day and average 4 to 6 hours of flights a day we are not paid for an additional 4 to 6hrs a day doing the things I listed above. So I can be at the airport for 12 hours and only get paid for 6. They also don't provide us with food. They only have to give you a meal if you have a flight that is more then 4 hours straight (which is never with this company since you will be flying to the US) or if you are doing an overnight. So be prepared to starve or if your lucky a business class passenger won't want there meal and you can eat that, but as a regular flight attendant you get last pick so good luck. You can bring your own food but because this company flies to the US mostly there are a lot of food restrictions and if you get got bringing something that is on the restriction list you will be heavily fined. I knew flight attendants who would do this anyway because pretty much anything healthy is on the list of prohibited items. This company isn't unionized and what that means for you is that if you do something wrong by mistake or whatever they can do a few things without consequence. One force you to come to a disciplinary meeting on your day off without pay at their office near the airport so if you don't drive that will suck. They can gang up on you by having three people at the meeting to your one and you get no representation to help defend you. They can also threaten to fire you if you don't sign their document putting you on probation for an extra 3 months loosing your benefits. You really need a union in this industry because without it the above can happen and they can also pressure you to work extra hours and guilt you because eyour colleagues will have to wait for your replacement. Your colleagues will also actively pressure you to work past what your supposed to. I also suffered through a very traumatic event and had to take bereavement leave. It happened during the summer so they were inconvenienced by this. Every week I got a call asking when I would be back to work and trying to pressure me to return. You'll be on stand by a lot as a newbie and it can last as long as 2 years depending on how hight the turnover is, so be prepared to not make plans for a while. It is 3am to 3pm and I believe 12pm to 12am. If you miss a call be prepared for one of those disciplinary meetings.  The only good thing about working here is the flight benefits, so fly to where you want to go then quit. 

Sky was an amazing regional company from many aspects. The pay was more than decent but of course, not better than a mainline. We had flight passes, the benefits were also decent. Colleagues were great, we always had good vibes, amazing layovers and most important we formed a big family. All US stations and frequent travellers were always saying that we are the best.
Trainers and managers were great, from my perspective, but at work, not everyone is your friend. Besides that, we're all different, therefore, different opinions. Senior management was amazing when I started and not as great and professional when I left.
Schedules war decent, in my opinion. Sad the company closed! :(
I would give a 4.9 out of 5 stars.

I was a first officer for a short time I absolutely love my job and management are kind accepting people ... the flaw is they hire alot of "high school bullies" type FA's and people who have horrible people skills!. The lack of kindness and judgement from multiple crews made it really hard to go into work! Rumors are huge in this company and once someone spreads one about you everyone shuts you out and starts making up their own!  it's unprofessional to the point that if covid didn't get here first I would have quit!  Honestly if you want to work in aviation GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! 

As soon as Covid began, management did as much as possible to take advantage of the situation. Immediate layoffs, elimination of participation in government programs, and no information. When aviation returns I strongly advise any prospective fa or pilot to avoid such disingenuous and unloyal management. They will sell you down the river as soon as they can but ask you for everything in return. Sky Regional is the summary of all that is wrong with aviation in Canada today. 

I honestly beelive that it is a good company to work,  with a competitive but productive environment, they are very collaborative, and they take very good care of their employees, if I has to choose something to say about this company, it would be simply Thank you, for give me the opportunity to be part of his team; Unfortunately as everyone know the economic impact due to the COVID-19 in 2020 was something that couldn´t be prevented in special for Airlines

Working at Sky Regional was extremely stressful. Any in-flight incident was made worse knowing that management did not have your back. People were fired at random and you never knew when you would be next. Had to get prescription meds for headaches when I was there and the headaches went away as soon as I quit. Try another airline and save yourself the trouble.

A great team spirit,  face paced flying in and out of some of the busiest airspace in North America. State of the art aircraft, chance for advancement.  Excellent place to work. 

 Disadvantages:schedule  and family life but this is from 2015.  Schedules might have changed.  Prekids. I would recommend to anyone. It was fantastic.


Sadly we did not survive the pandemic as Air Canada ended our contract a year into it which caused Skyregional to close. 
I loved working with the amazing pilots and flight crew. Mgmt was very toxic and we needed a union but we never made it to that point. Pay was good but schedule was long and we were unpaid for boarding. 

The management is terrible low pay always short staffed look at ac jazz triple the pay for less work no headaches treated with respect if ac knew behind the scenes of sky regional they would drop them.

If Air Canada was aware of the environment and the things that management allows in this airline, they would probably investigate and shut them down.
