SLEGG LUMBER

I worked in a fast paced environment, collecting, collating, and entering invoices from vendors to the company based accounting program for cheque runs held every 10 days.  Once processed, cheques were mailed, the paperwork was filed.  I built a great rapport with my vendors. We kept in contact on a regular basis making sure everything was correct with the invoices and monthly statements.  I was part of a great team. We helped each other getting our workload completed, when in need.  I had a great respect for my immediate supervisor, my team members, and other colleagues I was in contact with on a daily basis.  The hardest part of the job was having to say goodbye to my supervisor, my teammates, and colleagues, when I was laid off by the "new company" "Slegg Building Materials".  The most enjoyable part of my job being able to work out snags I came across, and the closeness I felt from both my co-workers and vendors.  I was able to learn different company based programs used for the Accounts Payable department. I learned how to navigate courier company's online systems for ordering supplies, requests for pick up and delivery, processing new account numbers for new stores and making sure the rates were intact. I learned how to process my work efficiently.  I learned how to add new vendors into the system providing Company Name, Mailing Address, Contact Name, Accounts Payable Codes for payment.

Slegg was a well balanced workplace that maintained a strong emphasis on working as a cohesive unit.  The training program was supportive and effective, this was a direct result of my success with the company.  The most enjoyable part of working at Slegg was the fun I had not only working with my colleagues but being proud of putting out a quality product.  The most rewarding part was when I announced my departure my bosses had nothing but positive things to say about with time with the company and assured me that their doors would always be open to me if I were to choose to return.  I am sure that if I stayed with the company I would have been able to further my position and continue to enjoy my role.

this was such a horrible way to start my summer. I am 18 and was told about the job by my school. I was very happy at work helping people in the yard. ......
Fired or laid of. Im not even sure. I went in half hour early and they told me to leave. I have a disabled mother with such a low income we won't be able to pay rent this month. This was a huge blow to my family. No support no help no respect for there employees. I guess thats why there is no one working there longer then a few months.

Between Helping customers, pulling orders, and stocking materials. it is rare that you would find nothing to do during the day. A fast paced work environment keeps you on your toes and a variety of jobs and materials to work with keeps the day interesting.

If you can’t find any other place to work. Then look at working for Slegg’s. 
It used to be a good place to work.  When WSB Titan bought the company it was the beginning of the end.  Respect for staff disappeared ,unless you were one of the chosen few.  Favoritism on every level.  HR was a joke, they didn’t care about the employees.  
Got rid of all the people with knowledge. Brought in a bunch of sycophants with no knowledge. Customers paid the price. 

i was very happy at slegg it was fast pace but the customers were great and it was good hard work if i could i would work there still but not the case i would recomend it to anyone

Hired me as a forklift operator but wouldn't let me operate forklift just kept me as a lumber yard janitor cleaning and flat stacking lumber. the lumber yard supervisor had no supervisor skills. I Wasn't Gonna Be treated like an outsider so I walked 

If you forget to sign in even if you were there the whole time you’re written up, if you’re 1 or 5 mins late you’re written up no matter the accuse.
The rules make you not want to work there.

With the new management the culture within the work place changed. Management had a poor attitude towards former owners. New management were bullies.
Would not work for them.
Previous owners were outstanding to work for.

I loved working with this company you always learned something new the people they were great didn't matter who you talked to everyone was willing to help out give you advise
