What is the best part of working at the company?
Money's is decent and they're good with interns. Not a lot of overtime and the work hours are pretty flexible.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Corporate culture is very bad for the soul

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The founder acts like a rock star and everyone is trying their best to stroke his ego. Recently, someone unironically cited him as a visionary. The citation was "think different". If you're not a fan of this then you end up on non-speaking terms with the management.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
arrive at the office, check your emails, go on a morning meeting, do the work,  go on another meeting, do more work, go home

Standard software dev day. The hours are pretty flexible though. The morning meeting usually starts at 10 and nobody cares if you're in the office before that

SOTI was a great experience as an intern. They offer long terms such as 8, 12 and 16 months. They use Angular and .NET. Their training program for interns was very well done and overall the culture is very supportive. As an intern be prepared to ask alot of questions because after the 2 month training, they throw you in, working on the actual product (not projects) and theres not much structured guidance after that, but you can always ask questions from other senior interns or developers. Overall the culture their is very welcoming and friendly but I wished they gave interns a bit more guidance after the training, because it is not easy self learning a codebase, especially if this is your first internship. 

The job is average, nothing special to say. But there are new products and they don't train you for them from the point of view of the technical support, only for usage. That's if they train you... Benefits are good but still can be improved, other companies have better benefits. The worst part is the management, you cannot trust them. They say one thing and do another (e.g. layoffs, they said there will be no layoffs during these times and there were, even they said the company is doing great, so no economical reasons). Also they don't talk to you. For example, they terminated the employment but didn't say why, they didn't give any reason at all.

However I met very nice people at Soti, I also met a very toxic people.
It's strange that the owner keeps those people, especially those who joined the company as it's earliest stage, they act as they are the founders of the company and they are close to the owner and nobody can touch them.
However, a significant percentage of people leaving the company is because of them and tasks usually take more time because they try to enforce their views.

They claim to have a methodology and standards. But once you leave and join a better company, you'll know that these was just lies to protect their positions.

I thought all the reviews online about this company was not true but now I came to realize how messed up it is here and that every single bad review was true. There is to many toxic people here and they'll spend all their time trying to bring you down or talk bad about you to others. Very unprofessional and not collaborative at all. It's really sad to see that HR doesn't do anything about it. The managers don't seem to care and the ones that do care end up leaving anyway. If Soti wants to become a good workplace they have to get rid of the toxic people or else you'll keep losing good people.

Only favourites get promoted
It does not matter the amount of hours/work you give to be better, your work gets overlooked 
Managers put you down when you try to suggest ideas or wanna improve your skills
If you provide a good idea, managers will take the recognition and your name will never come up
No teams, everyone’s in for themselves 
Took advantage of the pandemic to freeze bonus and salary increases (meanwhile revenue increased)
H&R doesn’t do their job properly, always slacking and changing policies to their convenience



The people in my group are very nice. However, there is not much training, support or help for new employers. Instead of teaching me first and then giving me similar tasks, they often just give me work to do without training. Sometimes I felt helpless and I spent more time finding a way to learn than actually learning something. I hope they would provide me with more detailed training and updated documentation and instructions. My mentor is very nice, but some of the senior developers are not very helpful when I try to ask them questions. 

Terrible upper-level management. A very toxic work environment with cliques and a manager on a power trip. Many policies and procedures put into place but apparently they don't apply to managers. Staff members are extremely overworked and lack a standard for the work that they contribute. Very pushy to adhere to made-up standards randomly put in place as management shifts 

SOTI is a good company with a solid foundation and great people.  The organizations is continually improving and really listening to the employees.  It's nice to see that, and the culture and environment will continue to improve because of that.  There are great people, a variety of technical and operations challenges that will always keep you engaged and sometimes extremely busy!

Being at SOTI for so many years, I have been able to grow with them as they moved from a small Canadian company to a large company.

With growth there are challenges.  Through those challenges, I have learned a lot and become a very rounded and professional sales exec.

I have been able to grow my book of contacts over the years and have made some lasting relationships with my customers.
