SPECIALTY GASKETS INC.

Specialty Gaskets Inc. proved to be a productive place to work while pursuing my studies at the University of Guelph-Humber. 

In a typical day, I provide support for the Accounts Receivable/Payable Clerks as well as Reception and Logistics Coordinator positions. My typical duties include entering invoices, problem/discrepancy solving, maintaining advanced organization, directing calls, and updating various company spreadsheets such as budgets, overhead, and price lists. 

Throughout my time at Specialty Gaskets Inc., I have learned the many different positions and people that it takes to run a complete business, something I feel is especially valuable. I feel as though I would not have had the chance to learn this if I were working in a specific department of a different company. However, I feel that working in a small company (less than 50 employees) has not given me the same opportunities that working with a larger company would have given me. I would like to know the different tasks that I would have if I were to work at a larger corporation. 

Overall, I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Specialty Gaskets Inc. and the people who I have had the chance to meet and work with there.

I've been working for the company since 2018, and I honestly wish that I had found them sooner! The atmosphere, while fast-paced and busy, is very comfortable. Employees were really friendly from the start and always willing to help answer questions I had or when I was unsure about anything. Management is VERY transparent, which is such a refreshing change. Great open door policy as well, you can always come to them for any reason.

There are also so many great opportunities! I was hired initially as an admin assistant and have transitioned into a digital marketing role. Management has been very encouraging and helpful. I really enjoy the bonds I've created with everyone else, and you get a real sense of teamwork. They even do lunches for employees at least once a month as a token of appreciation for everyone's hard work! Definitely recommend working for this company!

Working at this company has been a disappointing and unhealthy experience. The work environment is extremely toxic, filled with constant gossip, backbiting, and unnecessary drama. Instead of focusing on teamwork and productivity, many employees spend their time creating conflicts and spreading negativity. Hard work and dedication are rarely recognized or appreciated, no matter how much effort you put in. There is no clear path for growth, and salary increases are almost nonexistent. The pay itself is already lower than industry standards, and management shows little interest in improving it or rewarding long-term employees. Overall, the culture feels draining rather than motivating, and it becomes difficult to stay positive in such an environment. I would not recommend this company to anyone looking for a healthy workplace or meaningful career development.

I started off in reception and worked my way up into sales. They have a lot of job advancement opportunities and promote from within wherever possible. Management is honest, straightforward with employees and big on employee appreciation (offering incentives, encouraging you to use your vacation days, etc..). The pay is competitive and benefits include drug, health, dental, vision, life insurance, and long-term disability as well. Overall I enjoy the environment and think it's a rewarding place to work!

After 5 years away, I jumped at the opportunity to return to this dedicated work force. 

High expectations, but high reward and appreciate for hard work and completion.

Supportive management that helps you set goals and follow the steps to success. 

Specialty Gaskets is a great place to work, with many different areas to work in. And their are oppotunities to grow, if you are willing to put in the work. 

I started in Inside Sales, and thanks to the current Pandemic I  have helped with some basic Accounting, and in the warehouse doing order picking and shipping/receiving. 

The pay is competitive, and so are the benefits. They promote a healthy work/home balance and encourage you to use your vacation days. 

Working for this company has more downfalls than it does ups. 
Management will talk about you behind your back to other employees, they will be little you to other employees.
All favoutism in the work place.
If you disagree with of any of the managment they will make sure they make you feel uncomfortable, to ensure u leave the company or never input your opinion again.

Horrible work environment and even worse management. Stressful not because of the work but because of the poor management with bad attitudes and perspective on employees. They treat employees like they are desperate and need to work there rather than value them. High turnover rate for a reason. 

The director of finance is the worst of them all. 

co workers are to busy watching to nail you on everything you do, they are very one sided in management and do not like it when you talk to human resource at all. It is not a fun place to work at. 

Co-workers were easy to work with.
Management was fine, but not always friendly.

Hardest part of the job was the unrealistic time frames.
The most enjoyable part of the job was the accommodating hours.
