The hours was ok as long as you show that you are ready to work. I work there for 4 year and they had 4 management change with different guards supervisor each time..   New supervisor are choosed based on who the overall supervisor likes. Someone hired two years after I was hired was made supervisor which was the main reason why I left apart from the fact I got a now job in another province. No diversity whatsoever. Poor management, all racist supervisors too. In general this is mainly a transition job. No career. In my opinion I think Newfoundland is the worse province to live in Canada

Spectrum Security was a fantastic company to work for. It started out with a few Mall Security Guards and with much trial and tribulation grew to employ over 400 Security Officers across Newfoundland and Labrador. As it expanded; it began offering Security Services to the mining industry, airports and construction sites just to name a few workplaces. On a typical day at work one would provide site security services to the client. Learning was encouraged and management wanted to grow a most positive workforce.

At Spectrum I worked at various businesses.  The change was positive and negative.  Negative being that sometimes you didn't have a 'superior' to ask questions because of the over-night shifts.  Most businesses required someone after hours therefore leading a very solidary shift.  Positive being an employee you be re-freshed with new experiences and learning new things. Moving around made you make new connections and educating you in the style and movement of the business.

My employment with Spectrum was a very good experience. If it wasnt for the mine site that i worked in getting shut down I would atill be employed there. The job is challenging but also rewarding the people i worked with were great team players and over all very helpful. If there is one complaint i will make is about the Union they are part of.  The Union does not look after its members and seems to bend for the company we were hored out too.

I was sent to interesting locations to secure and while there I would sometimes meet nice people.  My boss was very accommodating and was always ensured his staff was treated fairly and kindly.  The hardest part of the job was working nights, where it found it to be very boring and at times mentally exhausting.

I had a OK time working for Spectrum. Learned a lot about safety and security,  received plenty of work . I was never out of work with these guys, was always given opportunities to work at different locations. That was something I really liked. You could have the option of working different places (for minimum wage) or just work contracts. During my time tenure with spectrum, the managers and most other employees were good.

Worked for this company, very poor management both on the site that I worked at along with the internal management at the offices. Supervisors are picked based on who the manager likes which is ridiculous. I have never seen a company ran so poorly as this one and would advise people reading this to please avoid this company as they are a pain to work for and the wages are just barely above minimum wage.

it was a job that involved occasionally 12 hour overnight shifts, but for the most part protecting people and company property from any criminal activity, and overseeing the safety of patrons at a social functions.

i just mainly watched over Kents.
Management was great, and co-workers were good.
the hardest part was sitting in my van for hours at a time.  
It was not a very enjoyable job to do, boring.

The manager will randomly call you on very short notice demanding you go to an area that your not even certified to be in and is a very hard person to work for . 

I was out of town and he demanded I go to the area right away absolute worst
