Micromanagement at its absolute worst. Upper management is constantly watching the cameras to hand out write ups for any small thing, and fail to acknowledge good work. And when they do acknowledge it, it feels forced. Most ideas are addressed as good, but never actually acted upon. They are trying to make speeders something it is not, instead of allowing it to be what it is and embracing that. 
Edmonton location management is/was great. They are doing a fine job at trying to make the place better and efficient, however, are being held to very unreasonable expectations. 
The events team tried their best however issues arise because there’s only so many of them and there are lots of people trying to get in touch for bookings. Receptionists are being held to unrealistic standards; they must handle all the guests coming in without missing a phone call.. even at the busiest of times. 
They roll out new things with 0 training or implementation plans, and things get hectic very fast and it falls on the floor team the most. There is little to no recognition for work, and when there is it is never enough. They will fire anyone without cause because everyone are simply numbers to them.  

Many months ago, I was you reading these reviews and despite how negative they were, I decided not to heed them because I needed the money. However, seriously, DON'T WORK HERE! 

This is a fine job. Most of the people I had the chance to work with are very nice, I'm still friends with quite a few of them. It's really easy to bond when you have a common enemy (the owner). The customer base is very nice as well. It is a fine job.

The problem it has it's with its management. The two owners, or "General Managers", as they like to call themselves, aren't good people. They pretend to be, but the facade doesn't last more than 2 weeks after you start working here. They treated most of us like property and/or like very stupid children. They're even condescending towards the customers sometimes! 

There is a consistent theme in all of the reviews of this place and is always a complaint about management and it is a fair complaint. These people lack respect, common decency and have a really short and nasty temper.

I'm certain that whatever good review they have on any website as a workplace, they wrote it themselves as they always keep an eye on reviews.

Seriously, find any other job, don't be tempted by the 13 dollars an hour, it's not worth it.

Their hiring process consists of making you work for free for two hours, that's right, not half an hour or an hour, TWO hours. And they have the nerve to call it a "job shadowing" ahahah! So after you're done with your slave labour they tell you that they'll review the security camera footage of you working for 2 hours, and they don't tell you in advance that you'll be basically spied on, which is just great and not creepy at all. If that's how they are in hiring, imagine the micromanaging nightmare that it is to work for them: they force their staff into doing unpaid overtime, they make them run around all day with barely any breaks, they're constantly looking over staff shoulders either in person or with the cameras, and constantly believing that their staff are going to screw up anything at any time.

The team morale is very low and some of the staff, especially management are so uneducated that I wouldn't be surprised if they flunked out of junior high school. If you work for them you get to put up with all of that for the amazing pay of minimum wage!

Do not race there and more importantly don't give these slavers your time and energy, trust me they'll make you regret it.

I had a really disappointing experience working at Speeders Indoor ProKarts. The management was extremely unprofessional and created a stressful work environment. Managers would often yell at employees in front of customers, which was embarrassing and disrespectful. Instead of supporting staff and helping us grow, they were rude and inconsiderate, and it felt like they didn’t care if employees actually enjoyed their jobs.

On top of that, they were constantly interfering and not letting workers do the tasks they were trained for. This made it difficult to do the job properly and created confusion and frustration during busy shifts. Overall, the lack of respect, poor communication, and negative atmosphere made it a very uncomfortable place to work. I would not recommend this workplace to anyone looking for a positive or supportive environment.

These colleagues are some of the best colleagues I've ever worked with, always so fun and funny except for this one particular dude who's extremely unhygienic with a habit of lying and laziness. Colleagues and I have made multiple complaints, but nothing much was ever done about it from the management side. The other downside about this place is working hour which often lead to difficulty planning things ahead without asking for a day off in advance and taking a hit to your salary.

Overall, it's the funny colleagues and my love for karts that kept me going. So if you love these things as I do, you'll probably do just fine.

Near to no training, managements never around, problems or issues take over 3 weeks to be addressed. Firing through email with no explanation. Vacation requests put in over 4 weeks in advance WILL be denied. No matter what their policy book says.
There are no perks, unless you are the management "favorite", then you get whatever you want for free, but who cares about your other employees? Right?
Empty promises. A wimpy 15% off food (saves you a whole $2 off of a $22 small meal! Woohoo).
This place has no idea what they are doing or how to successfully run a business. Management runs around looking constantly stressed, great way to make your staff feel calm.
Very untrustworthy company.
Bad pay but expecting you to work miracles.

Speeders was a job experience I would greatly like to forget. The management team was incredibly disrespectful and uncaring about their own staff. This included being singled out and humiliated in front of other staff and even customers. Opportunity for advancement was in the job description, but if it was ever brought up. it would be ignored, over-looked, or was given an excuse to change the subject. Training was basically figure it out on your own, and if you didn't get that right, it was only your own fault. The discounts are very minor, extremely selective, and expire. The only way to move up in the company is to have a more intimate relationship with someone higher up. This company is a joke and the way they run things is very bias.

I was there for almost months. Worst job I’ve ever had. Management expects you to clean the bathroom like it’s a 5-star hotel. If you miss a spec of dust, they will call you into the office to make sure you know how useless you are and how you can get a write up if it’s not up to their expectations for performing duties that aren’t even in your job description. The threat of a “write-up” and also implied termination is constantly looming over one’s head to ensure compliancy with tasks that are also not within your job description. 

The team leads will take all of the credit, and hide in the office while you’re out dealing with the difficult customers. 

Overall, this was a really great place to work! The workday can be tough some times, but its really just simple customer service and the benefits are well worth it. If you enjoy having fun at work, and the occasional drive then its an easy job with a lot of sweet extras, especially if you like go karting! The commute was not for me, but it was better than some of the other jobs I have had in the past. I would recommend checking this place out if you want to get a job that wants more then for you to just stand around but is worth the extra effort!

This place is a joke. They expect way too much for minimum wage. You get interviewed for what should be a decent paying position. Guess again. Well maybe benefits and perks are good. Wrong. The training is very minimal but they expect you to be a top performer from day 1. Meanwhile management does not have a clue as to what is going on or even how to run a business. If you enjoy being overworked for minimal pay, this is your company.
