The role lacked clarity and consistency from the beginning. Responsibilities frequently extended far beyond the original scope of the position, often without adequate training, support, or communication. A typical day involved managing shifting priorities and covering operational gaps rather than focusing on the work I was originally hired to do.
I learned the importance of organizational structure, role clarity, and leadership communication in healthcare environments. Unfortunately, management often appeared reactive rather than proactive, which created confusion and burnout among staff. Workplace culture varied depending on the team, but there was a general sense of high turnover and limited support for employees.
The hardest part of the job was balancing unrealistic expectations across multiple responsibilities without clear boundaries or resources. The most enjoyable part was working directly with patients and collaborating with frontline staff who genuinely cared about the people they served.

I can only speak for the office staff and not for the front-line staff who actually work with seniors, but the management is terrible (and it’s evident in the very high turnover rate their office staff have).

I’m sure their hearts are in the right place but they micromanage to its fullest extent!

Those in upper management do not know how to trust others to do their job and controlled every aspect of their work. No room for creativity as they always had a very specific vision and if you didn’t follow it exactly (which you never can since you’re not in their head) they took it over and did it themselves. No work-life balance either as you were expected to reply to emails well after working hours.

Some in upper management were not expected to respond to emails (while others were) even if you needed something urgent from them so it was impossible to communicate effectively.

Management also has trouble with confrontation and problem-solving so they'd get others to do it for them.

I’m sure many of them genuinely care about seniors and want to help them but there’s a reason there’s such a high turnover at this company and I don’t think they’re doing anything effective to solve it.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The best part to be employed in this company was their ability to  support the psw  community like for example if you encounter problems with clients they are with you anytime.You can be able to talk to the manager or coordinators and get answer right away .You can also feel their  appreciation of what the psw’s have  contributed for the clients and company.and Expect  sick leave with pay if you are employed here , travel time (half an hour in between clients) I love working with Sprint , I quit only because my little daughter , I have to be more flexible and closer to home , to be able to pickup and send her to homedaycare .Sprint is in downtown .And I live North york.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Driving to downtown  , then back home is so stressful with the traffic..(I can not be able to pickup my little girl)

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very organized management.Shahin is a very good manager for me .She stands for her employees (PSW’s) when theres a problem.

SPRINT is aptly named.  This is a fast paced environment with highly energetic and passionate staff.  If you are looking to take on new projects, work with qualified and dedicated people and grow your skills in a professional environment this is the place for you. 

Not all Community Support Services around the city operate the same- they carry out the same services but with very different strategic plans.  SPRINT has a high level of professionalism in comparison to its counterparts.

Everyone will have their own individual experience here and may not always be the right fit like any place but I would say SPRINT's work culture has evolved since the pandemic in a positive way, there is a shift to focus more on worklife balance and the competing demands we have as workers and as individuals, this has come with the shift of new management.  If you love your work, building your community and connecting with your coworkers you will like this workplace.

Management staff has been hand chosen by ED based on friendship and who has recommended them rather than skill level, education, experience, qualifications and knowledge of the actual job. Micro management is at its best within this agency. Everything is delegated leaving the employees below management stressed and overwhelmed while managers wait to reprimand once work is not completed. The technology is not advanced, not up to date, internet slow, most times no connection off site locations. Upper management enjoys expensive phones, computers etc. while older equipment used for front line staff. No advancement or job security. Job Culture is that all staff are on edge, stressed out to the max and feel unappreciated. Very disappointing. The best part of this job are the clients.

Working at SPRINT Senior Care has come with rewarding challenges, professional growth and fulfilling client work. The organization provides options for professional development, growth in the company and engagement. As a community support service, this is one of the few organizations that has developed excellent ties and collaborations across the health care sector including with hospitals and other agencies.  

Since the pandemic, there has been a shift in the work culture with a higher focus on work life balance, staff recognition and stronger, more supportive leadership. If you are someone that’s interested in helping  seniors  and open to different opportunities, this is a great place to work! 

Different task of working with peoples with dementia and alzhaimer..The attention is individually. But need to hired more peoples .working with this company for many years allow me to learn more as a psw..and my huge experience for 20 years I can consider my self a better person a professional ,who love to work with all kind of people, This company gibme the opportunity to educated more my self and learn more about different illness and diseases .

Looks out for you and your family and wonderful volunteers that assist with providing the best care for seniors within the community.  If it wasn't for the Management and volunteers   lots of seniors with disabilities would not receive the care they have. In addition, they offer various cultural selection of foods to meet the needs of seniors such as chinese meals on Fridays. 

The majority of the management are inept and have been hired based on being liked as opposed to qualified. You will often be overworked and when unable to keep up with the unreasonable demands, you will be blamed. The culture of fear and blame is rampant so be prepared to feel undervalued and overwhelmed.

I have been working here for a few years and it is a great place to work. The management team is very understanding and flexible. I feel that we are really supporting seniors in the community. The staff are all very friendly and it's a good collaborative environment. The organization is very supportive of training. I would recommend this organization to anyone -  as a worker or a client.
