I find it hard to maintain a work-life balance; it is something I work hard to see when it's happening. I use to think that being tired, burned out and busy were things to be proud of; however, as I get older, I see that I was hurting my self. I do my best to carve out time to recharge my "batteries" and when I can remember to take time for my self and time with my new husband it makes a significant impact to the quality of my design work and my creativity. I love working as a designer it helps be meet so many people, with every new contract and new design opportunity. So for me when I am working there is so many exciting aspects of a new group of co-workers within a new company that I get to learn about them and their strengths and weakness, and I like to hear about how they tend to work on their work-life balances. With each new project, I tend to take on tunnel vision, and I forget to take care of other parts of my life. So I am always a work in progress and its something I will keep on my radar to help make sure your organization gets the best of me with an excellent work-life balance.

I found people below the Executive Management level are hardworking and dedicated. The call Centre is run quite separately from the rest of the company and they seem happy and well supported by their managers. However, above the first floor it is a completely different culture. I was told by several co-workers not to expect any work feedback unless it was negative. This proved to be true. No three month or six month reviews. Little training. If you like lots of pressure, little guidance and executives who do not value positive reinforcement or individual interaction with subordinates, then this is the place for you. 
The work space itself is amazing and modern looking.  Occasionally they have a social gathering but your day to day is like working in a guilded cage. 


If you're seeking a job in SQM's call centre, it's a decent place to work. The staff/managers in that area are great. However, once you make it outside of that bubble, expect to be treated like a number where you will be told that you know nothing and constantly be degraded by the top of the house. You will also be treated as if your job is on the line and there is no such thing as an 8 hour day if you're in a salary position. 
The positive in this, the team under the upper management are all in the same boat and will try to support each other the best they can, but it's a very toxic environment to be in.

I have worked with SQM for two years and in that time I feel I have been able to develop my programming skills with the help of the other programmers and staff. The overall enviroment is one of openness and willingness to help if anyone is in need of support, whether it be work, or COVID, or any other potential life experiences that come up.

SQM was quick to recognize the importance of sending its employees to work from home as soon as COVID began. They made sure we had the support we needed especially as a programmer so I can still do the same level of work but at home.

I have been at SQM now for four years. It is a fun place to work. They take your health and safety into consideration at all times. With the recent pandemic that is happening, it was made possible that we could continue our employment by working from home. The supervisors and upper management are always there to help you in anyway they can. I would not hesitate to recommend someone to work at this company. 

Look forward to going to work each day, even if some of the calls were a little hard to handle.
co workers and management were very good to work with and very understanding people. One of the main things I learned while doing this job was not to take the unhappy members on the phone as personal, they only need to vent about the survey and we need to just listen to them.

So at SQM Group there is really no advancement. Even when you do move up in the company, they still put you back where you started when needed. You are capped at a long wage, no options or offers. You are and will always be a number no matter what you bring to the company. 

SQM provides a very good work environment and I find everyone single person of the family very cooperative, understanding and encouraging. 
Management is very positive about change and welcome new ideas.
They have set priorities, but always consider their clients as well as employees on top of the list. We have a very good team at SQM and it continues to grow.

Work was office hours which I appreciated and the people that I worked I enjoyed, and we were a family. I was a full time transcription in the end and enjoyed my job as the voice of the customer.

low wages for expectations, low moral, no employee appreciation, management plays favorites, backstabbing and confilict is encouraged, money main focus of company owner, employees not valued at all, just numbers, dishonesty and backstabbing is rampant
