Handled all confidential data and had to be professional at all times and learnt that you could not discuss much about the work. Worked with personnel who spoke different languages and of different ethinics. The hardest part of the job was meeting the dead lines in a short period of time. The most enjoyable part of the job when the audiors were able to get all the reports balanced.

Started at Standard Life many years back and have many fond memories of my time there. We were extremely well trained and prepared for our work. The work culture was a bit challenging with lots of turnover and low compensation however. SLAC is now part of Manulife Financial. 

I provided assitance to the plan administrators who had insurance coverage with us.  I also assited the Sales Associates with any changes or renewals that had to be completed.  
Standard Life was an amazing company to work for and was one of my favorite jobs.

-management in the Calgary office was minimal (satellite office)

Part of an enjoyable summer cleanup project. Spent a lot of time in the file room which was quiet and pleasant. Also spent some time on the computer on which our team was responsible for entering important information.

I learned a ton of skills.  Especially preparing and analysing investment fund financial statements using all types of computer applications.  Super team work.

They give the employees the required training and are supportive. Opportunity for advancement is there if you are willing to work hard. Great coworkers.

We were all treated like family.
Most of us associated outside of work as well.
Very friendly staff and management.
Easy to get along with.
Staff parties were a lot of fun.
