What is the best part of working at the company?
Going home, and the children. Nothing else about this place has any positive attributes

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The upper management, specifically the CEO is more concerned about portraying the facility to be a safe environment for children than actually implementing appropriate guidelines and training to make it a safe environment. It’s a liability for staff and it is the last place I would ever leave my special needs child in the care if those facility, they can’t keep staff, constantly use agency and the children are left infront of the tv for hours on end with no stimulation. The physician who oversees the care is lazy, under qualified and is concerned about the complete wrong parts of his job. He is also degrading and rude. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Horrible. Staff has cliques and they revolve based on race. Depending on your race, depends where you will fit in. I have no idea how 90% of the employees received there licenses because they can’t do the most simple of tasks. Staff is also caught sleeping on shift. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Trying to make sense of the disorganized paperwork, confusion about different rules enforced by different management. I did my best to encourage the management to allow us to take the children out of the home for entertainment but typically hear outings never occur and if they do, it’s more of a marketing stunt than an appropriate activity for the children.

Don't work here unless you want to feel your life drained from you one incident at a time. HR doesn't know what they're doing and hires incompetent staff. The turnover rate for staff is ridiculous, and we can barely keep one person on for over five months. Upper management doesn't care about you and puts unrealistic expectations on you with little to no training. They do not care about your education, training, orientation, or your job. They expect you to know what you're doing and throw you to the wolves. They don't care if you sink or swim so long as they get what they want.

They are ruthless, money-hungry, power-tripping monsters. They don't care for the kids but the "lowly employees" care more for these kids than you could ever imagine. Save yourself the headache and do NOT ever work here. 

Management are horrible, they treated you like you are beneath them. If there is an issue and you email anyone from the office, no one responds especially if you work on the floor as RSW or nurse. They must believe that working in office makes them superior. The HR personnel are all horrible, need more training or education. Do not email HR because you will not receive any reply or indication that your email was read or reply to your question. The management have no idea what is happening or how anything works. This place has so much potential but the management and office personnel really ruins it. Management do not care and do not support. You are on your own, figure things out by yourself. The job is easier than the other places but management ruins it. 

The staffing ratios are being reduced with no safeguards in place to ensure clients/staff safety. In addition to the organization changing the eligibility criteria of their clientele to more behavioural clients, it has caused more stress onto the staff who are not receiving the proper training, or appropriate supervision/oversight to support these new clients/changes. Staff and clients are getting hurt and worn down leading to more time off/dropped shifts. 
CEO/Senior management are unwilling to take staff feedback. It is clear that they make decisions  based on money, NOT by client care or staff satisfaction.


I was highly disappointed in my experience as a social worker. This organization is disorganized and constantly in crisis mode and overrun with untrained and unprofessional workers. My job consisted of responding to daily complaints from both families and staff and their was a lack of support from senior leadership. The clients and staff of this organization deserve better and unfortunately, it was beyond myself to make a different and change this organization for the better. It is just a revolving door and many great employees have passed through due to poor management/leadership. 

Nepotism/favoritism run rampant. Management and senior leadership have created a fear-based culture. Toxic work environment. HR is hiring underqualified support staff.  On-call senior leadership does not answer phone calls, most of the supervisors and coordinators are clueless, they turn a blind eye to known negligence. Bottom of the barrel benefits. Over worked, underpaid staff. The best part of the job would be the clients, it's the only reason that keeps some people from resigning. 

Stressful, overwhelming and overloads the workers with tasks beyond capabilities and capacity to complete On in a reasonable time  
Staff are miserable and management just focuses on loading people with more work than giving staff space to work effectively and with proper training 
Mistakes made due to lack of training is blamed on staff competency. Staff have potential but management dies not offer proper time investment to provide good training

Very hardworking and dedicated front-line staff, but are often overworked and placed in unsafe situations (I.e. unregulated staff being responsible for giving medications, or nurses providing care they have not received enough training for). Good intentions to provide respite and residential care to kids, but lacking the necessary resources and staff competency.

Direct management is great, but senior management is horrible. Staff are not respected or barely even thanked when they’ve had to pull 24 hour shifts because of being short staffed. The workload can be overwhelming depending on your assignment. They ask for our opinions but then tell us that their way is better or that our opinion doesn’t work. We are the ones frontline! We would know! Senior management is the reason this place has such a high turnover rate. I’m shocked this place is still even running!

Caring for the residence with compassion, attention and careful monitoring. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Relating with some unqualified staffs

Pleasant especially when you work with few dedicated workers.
