So i worked for this company in Campbell River for one year. I worked anywhere from 60-80 hours a week and had the responsibilities of a Security Guard, Mobile driver, and the Supervisor's phone to take all calls that happened after business hours. So now that you understand what i used to do ill tell you why i give this company a 1 star review.
  
First off, when you work your tail off filling ALL rolls and have seen 8 supervisors and managers get hired then fired in a course of 8 months due to lack of training and experience, you see a pattern of poor management. Second, i was making $13.00 hour filling those 3 rolls, when i was hired at $13.50 and did not receive any compensation for all those hours that i was paid the wrong wage for. There is NO chance of advancement or raises.

So in short, this company is under extreme chaos and very poorly managed, BUT i will say i loved the guys and gals i worked with. The job was very satisfying and rewarding. Helping people in the community was a huge goal of mine and for that short period i felt like i made a difference. Things may have changed by the time i wrote this but in my experience with this company, look elsewhere.

Great position and place to work. If you are a reasonable person, a good worker, you are able to communicate/ collaborate and work well with others in a team environment.. this job will be a fit for you. People expect way too much these days from entry level positions like this, they are expecting CEO pay, benefits, work accommodations, changes to hours and schedule to fit their own personal life and schedules. Please remember this is an entry level job, that is a great starting point! Many people I previously worked with at this position that likely left negative reviews were very negative, demanding and did not have the ability to communicate properly or cope when they did not get their way. Management is actually great they are very reasonable, understanding and work together with you if you are able to meet them in the middle. People are always quick to put someone or a place down when they do not get their way- that’s unfortunately the world we live in today.  I personally really enjoyed my time there, and I would recommend this position to anyone. 

I'm not sure about the other Safety Net locations but Trail is absolutely appalling, The management will promise you the world when you enter and tell you how they are there for you and promise wage increases. Then you start working for them and your training is near non existent for one of the most hazardous industrial sites in BC. They will try to put you down every chance they get and if you are seen conversing with a security guard of another company your hours will disappear. and good luck getting a wage increase and be sure to watch your pay stubs on many occasions they do not pay accordingly to BC laws.on top of that the conduct of the management is outright unacceptable, on multiple occasions management has been seen openly discussing how useless and worthless other employees are in public. The only good thing about this place are some of the other guards are the most supportive and helpful co workers i've ever worked with.

I have only been with this company a short period... I still have no uniform other then a jacket, hat, touqe and paints. Going forward they book me for a shift but don’t notify me... randomly mobile calls me ask why I’m not on site?!? “ I was not aware of the shift”  I tell him he’s like well can you come in? I say “Maybe I’ll have to try to make arrangements for my daughter to get home if I can find someone to pick her up I’ll come in” When I call back cause everyone I know was working and I couldn’t  get my daughter a ride he says “so you can’t come in!”  Not his fault, it was the fault of the office they need to work on communication. Make you pay $50.00 off each cheque for a uniform they can’t provide equaling $200.00.

As a former employee I can say the company was okay to work for most of the time. I found management was quick to assume the worst before talking to the employee about the situation. Some of the clients were nitpickers and complain to the company. So going above and beyond your job is not recommended because you get no credit for it or recognition. If a guard messes up on one site, the management takes the easy way out and disciplines the whole company. Management treats all the guards and sites as one and cracks down on everybody. Credit should be given to the person that did the positive or negative act on duty. 

Worked a temporary contract for an industrial shutdown project. Advertising for the position was very clear that management was offering a fair wage and a lot of hours for a temporary job, and expected employees hold themselves to a standard reflective of the potential wages.
Managers and supervisors were very approachable and handled the project well. Employees that did not take their duties seriously were offered a slim second chance, and if needed, were removed without hesitation.
Office staff are very approachable and knowledgeable.

I worked with safety net for a good while, and I have to say that the management (at the time) was wonderful. They were helpful when needed, and very easy to approach if a situation came up. 
I also really appreciated the fact that, being a woman, if I ever had a concern with part of my job, or there was any type of risk, one of the men working there would step up and help any of the women out without hesitation. It was a great place to work, and I'd happily have gone back, however my family has since relocated.

The company is a joke. The management is terrible. The supervisors are not trained and dont do proper training.  The supervisors on site give out positions like team lead which is just a way for them to get other people to do their job. Only overtime after 13 hours of work in a day because we get "paid" breaks. As a skip operator u stand out in the cold for hours and hours and no one cares about your overall health or saftey.

Patrolled the designated premises and other adjacent areas.
♦ Maintained the traffic to and from main business building.
♦ Performed regular safety inspection to ward of any security threats on time.
♦ ID cards checking of all the personnel entering the building.
♦ Investigated and then reported any illegal activity in the premises.
♦ Took quick and on the spot actions when required.

Overtime hours and 12 hrs shifts

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Walking 2miles just to have a cigarette

Environment was great dangerous but exciting

Always on guard and expecting to make a move to save lives
