Safeway tours is a company that treats their staff as expendable. There is unpaid training, 2 day shifts that last 12 hours long. A total of 4 days training to obtain the job. Demonstrates that you don't need much skill or knowledge to do the job. Shifts begin throughout the day as it is a 24 hour service. There are set shifts but there are never set schedules, thus everyday is an on call shift for any staff whether you've worked there for 1 day or 5 years. A typical shift is 11 hours long, i.e. you begin your shift at 9 am in Toronto, and you will leave Niagara falls at roughly 6:30pm, with a 2 hour traffic time. They pay day rates, but you will never have steady income because again every shift is on call. Long hours means you can't plan ahead of time and have a steady life. Employees are expendable because of the high turnover rate. Salaries range from $100-220 per day, divided by hours its roughly $15 an hour. I would never recommend this job. There is no upward movement with this job, poor job culture, and memos/ communications are distributed via word of mouth. Good luck.

the hardest part of any of customer service jobs will be varies complains from out customers, and i learned how to solve problem wisely when the situations are controversial. 

the most enjoyable part of a tour guide would be when we talk and chat with out passengers and figure out what they need, in that way i feel I'm provided an excellent customer service to people, and they will always come back and look for me.

Safeway Tours is a dynamic workplace full of challenges. I learned how to handle complaints and multitask, as well as improving my communications skills through interacting with customers. Co-workers are very helpful and nice. The hardest part of the job was to deal with unexpected situations and customer complaints. The most enjoyable part of the job is to work in a team with other co-workers to achieve high level of sales.

I have been a tour guide at Safeway for over 10 years. One of my favorite tours is the 3-day trip to Montreal, Quebec, and Ottawa. Management is always supportive, promoting teamwork, and providing a flexible schedule. The best part is witnessing guests' excitement as they explore new cities and receiving generous tips.

They give Execellent service and staff is also nice staff but they do not give enough shifts and hours and sometime they take so much time to change the availability like a month and there rules are so annoying have to do so much things. they do not take care of good cashier there .

working schedule is flexible. Dealing with patrons are very stressful, you will get pushed (physically) and get yelled at. And it's a long ride on the bus.

It's good to work there if you're a college graduate.  No pressure, fun work place.  But, if you're looking for a life-long full time job, I won't recommend it as it provides no benefit or job advancement.

Very bad management and strong office politic. No career development, only good for the students. Most of the colleagues are part time only few are full time employees.

Took care of employees but job security is a question.

Workday is good if you only run one shift, and if customers are nice
