I joined Pathways in December 2018 having an extensive background in social care with organisations of all sizes. One of the things that was immediately clear to me was that this is a company that genuinely cares. The senior leadership of the company have a desire to see our clients living their best possible lives and for the staff team to be valued and rewarded for the amazing work they do. You can see the commitment to care in the small details at Pathways for example every Friday the Managing Director writes a personal email to the entire group reflecting on various themes across the group and also taking time to celebrate achievements and thank the team. I can honestly say that Pathways are the best organisation I have ever worked for and i feel very lucky to work for an organisation that supports and empowers me as an employee as well as our clients.

i work for ambito/salutem and have since september 2019 and hope to continue until i retire .I work in the west country [ cornwall] and cover a wide area looking after a number of great people with complexed disabilitys but their fantastic they really make my day and i leave work actually smileling  .The management are also great a fun loving group of people who have come up through the stages from carers/support workers to be team leaders and managers etc  and nothing is to much trouble you only need to ask. You have that extented family feeling which doest seem to change i work with some great colleages you come from all sorts of backgronds  ..........So ladies and gentlemen if your looking for a career in the care sector dont look no further the company you want this is it else i woundn,t be here

Work and life balance is not ideal here the shift pattern is great if you don't have a partner or children. No room for changing the shift pattern at all. Training that was promised was never given. When errors are made with wages they don't work with you to help you at all. They care about the people that they care for but unfortunately not the staff that they employ. All i could say is give them a go you may absolutely love them and think that they are fantastic to work for.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Leaving. Horrible toxic culture from central management 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Management and their expectations. Also the shocking wages when they make huge amount of profit 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Toxic senior management who have no idea what’s actually happens in their services 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Role I was employed for, don’t wish to say as I’m sure they’d try to distinguish who it was.

There are plenty of opportunities for career progression at the company. The management team are very supportive and the camaraderie amongst the community based staff is apparent. The customers are amazing, many have been supported by the company for many years. There are opportunities to support customers on holiday if you wish. The training company that Ambito use is one of the best I have experienced.

Challenging but very rewarding job. Always people around to give you a hand when needed. Always a good friendly environment. Very accommodating for their staff who have appointments / children. Great management. Good Job salary - good hours. Application process to starting of the job less than 2 weeks. The interview process was easy and the paperwork was straight forward. Learning w lot  on the job. All staff were welcoming when I arrived - always happy to help!

A bully culture where senior management have so much control of staff by using intimidation and bullying methods against them to the point that people are fearful of loosing their jobs or they leave. Emotional blackmail and greed make it hard for the staff that really care and work hard to support people with pride.

Despite some pros within the company the cons can easily out-weigh them. You are expected to work as a ‘robot’ and if you don’t work yourself to the brink of exhaustion and high levels of stress it feels they do not want you. The companies wants and needs are placed above all including staffs well-being. Would not recommend. 

I worked here for over 4 months and I saw bullying in the workplace from people high up, and priority was always given to profits and not the actual quality of care. I worked long hours from early hours till late evenings even though I was on a salary and not paid per hour, and this was never appreciated.

I have never worked anywhere as nice and friendly as this. I have had unbelievable experiences that I wouldn’t ever have anywhere else. Approachable managers too . If you have a problem they will usually help as much as possible
