Sanctuary Care

I have worked for Sanctuary now for nearly 8 years. In that time I have progressed in my role. Progression is encouraged and supported by management to bring out the best in you and your abilities. I have worked for many care providers before coming to Sanctuary and it is by far the BEST provider by miles. Before my current role, I worked in one of our care homes for 5 years as a carer and a senior carer working shifts. Although I have children this never proved difficult as I had all the support I needed to ensure I could balance my work and home life. It was a comfort and support to be told family comes first, which made a refreshing change from companies past who always said the opposite. 

3 years ago I progressed into my current role at head office. I was very scared and apprehensive and worried I wouldn't fit in or be good enough. These fears and thoughts were soon put to rest because my managers and colleagues just supported me so much and believed in me, it really is fantastic. I have no intention of leaving Sanctuary now or in the future, and I am so glad 8 years ago I made the phone call about the care position. I really do love my job and work in the best team ever.

My day is very filled with a team workspirit,  good communication and focus to achieve the best for our residents
We strive to always do the best for our residents and it is very rewarding at the end of the day knowing that I have done my best to care for my residents
I always learn that each day is different for every individual and prioritising each person's needs on that day will help them feel comfortable. 
The workplace culture is that of developing each individual to do the best in meeting the residents needs
The hardest part of the job is that  time when we have to say goodbye to a resident either they have come to end of life or have transfered. 
The most enjoyable part is facilitating for our residents to continue doing what they love and enjoy most  where possible.

Sanctuary care values their employees. Every day is different, and no two days are the same. I get the opportunity to work in a team, promote independence and support residents in a setting that is caring, safe, well led, and responsive.  The training opportunities are endless with opportunities to progress into various job roles.  The senior team do really care about the residents and staff and there is a really positive culture. I would highly recommend Sanctuary care. 

Great atmosphere, very supportive and person centre focused care. All the staff are very welcoming and friendly and I already feel part of a great team.  The management are very supportive and guided me into the position with full training and practical learning. The on boarding  process was quick and easy and I was always kept in touch of the process. I would very much recommend a career with sanctuary care. 

take the advice training is very poor and sporadic. management have no idea what is going on. They have just had a terrible cqc report. The staff are treated poorly made to work long hours understaffed normally with agency staff who do not want to work. Anyone applying for this job read the cqc report to find out what your letting yourself in for. In saying that the residents are lovely

If your face fits your fine, however if you question anything your targeted, manager and higher management is terrible, resident needs not being met, staff well being is a joke. Ran on agency staff, majority of homes in trouble, if cqc were to walk in most of the home would be downgraded to inadequate!

The management are caring and understand the needs of both the clients and staff/the home is fun and relaxed and a happy place

I've been working for Sanctuary for about 4 Months now, since I have come over to Sanctuary I have felt supported. I feel like they listen to me and are supportive.
My manager is great and always supports me in whatever I need alongside my team who I know will help me with anything I need. I can use my creativity in my job role.


What I enjoy about working for Sanctuary Care is their priority is the residents. The staff are treated well, with lots of support and staff benefits. Wages could be better but is competitive for the care market.
