A typical day at work involved doing the exact same thing about 100 times over. Nothing anyone can't learn or handle. Extremely dispensable position. Extremely repetitive and you just sit and stare at a computer literally all day long. Cubicle life. I learned to follow a computer program that tells you what to do, hence above.

Management was extremely misleading and judgemental. If you are not part of a select group of ladies then you don't matter. Welcome yourself back to high school, and enjoy listening to those who matter gossip about others and their personal lives, it gets to be a little much at time, extremely unprofessional topics of conversations!!!

There wasn't anything hard about this job itself. I believe the higher up, like the bosses you never see may have been ok, but the minions running the floor I would recommend keeping at arms length, mind yourself, maintain perfection, do your duties, and stick to yourself. I heard stories of management before working here and these reviews say it all. While still employed I was warned multiple times about the childish behaviour or management and supervisors and told who to steer clear of. At that point it was too late for me.

Upon no longer working for Carfinco, I had been in touch with some people who are still there, management clearly broke confidentiality as people I had never spoken to knew the particulars of my leaving the company and were apparently shouting it across the room at other people. Not surprised in all honesty. That is Carfinco for you. Do yourself a favor and find a good job with nice people that actually pays half decent.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
they get a 1 start for the experience gained, but other than that whole credit department in the Edmonton office is HORRIBLE. Low pay and HIGH emplolyee turn over and if you work there for a week you'll know why that is. No work-life balanance at all, it's literally impossible with the 11am-8pm schedule  plus 2 Saturdays per month. And to make this all worse, the supervisor and manager (who are best friends) are so cliquey and unhelpful. So much  gossip and nasty things being done.  I always wondered what the HR department did? because they  sure weren't improving the work enviroment. This company is in need of fundamental change. You'll only work here for longer than a month if you're extremley desperate for a job, but while you are there, take good care of your well being becuase they don't care and they'll make it hard for you to do so.

The possibility to learn and advance from internal job postings is offered once you get your foot in the door. There is also a possibility for commissions in various departments. Referral bonuses are available as the party completes the necessary qualifications. Some departments require the need for late nights and Saturdays intermittently, (the Saturdays are compensated with a weekday in lieu or bank for vacation or added income.The pay is salary based typically. The environment is cliquey, each department has there own group relationships, but they all work for the same company goal. It's a finance company with many responsibilities, many different departments, and for those that are fully trained, they're left to work unsupervised. There are social events just recently. And a recently new games and dining area for the different events planned from the social committee. There is a gym onsite, free of charge and a benefits package, as well.

 I started at the Edmonton branch in a Treasury Manager role. During my time there, I found the management style within the Financial team to be highly challenging and not well-structured.

In particular, I felt that communication from senior leadership was often unclear, and meetings were frequent but not always productive. There appeared to be a high turnover within the team, with employees being laid off or leaving in a relatively short period of time.

Compared to my previous experience, the overall working environment did not meet my expectations in terms of stability and leadership effectiveness.

I would advise candidates to carefully consider the management culture and team dynamics before joining, especially within the Finance function. The VP and CFO knows nothing, just blame others and fired employees very frequently. 

This is the worst of worst working team I met. 

Carfinco has been a great workplace - smooth, easy work environment despite our clientele. I have had the opportunity to develop skills, such as communication, data entry, word processing, as well as a greater financial understanding for personal and corporate purpose. The management team of Carfinco is as effective as any growing company would expect to be. Occasionally, there will be hiccups in the management, which are generally resolved within a timely manner. The coworkers are pleasant to work with, and they are helpful in educating the other departments when asked questions. 
The most difficult part of the job is the lack of potential for growth within the company, as well as the salaries are below market pay scale. I thoroughly have enjoyed the coworkers and atmosphere of the job, as well as the learning opportunity it has provided me with.

I enjoyed my time in Santander's credit department, I left because I unfortunately could no longer be accommodated accordingly  to suit what my needs were at that time. Challenging work, no day is the same which I loved. Some of my co-workers were amazing, others created a lot of drama in the workplace. Very toxic. The constant office drama was exhausting and management didn't seem to care when you voiced your concerns or they would find it suspicious if you point out someone else's mistakes. Senior analysts were pretty helpful so I always went to them with any questions about a file. 

A typical day at work consists of mostly computer work, data entry, calling references and welcoming new customers to the company.
I've learnt how to be a better multi tasker, I often have to pick up numerous phone calls whilst imputing information on the computer etc. The management is great, everyone is extremely tight knit, we do many things to make the workplace a fun and upbeat environment. (Pot lucks, Bake-off's etc). My co-workers are great, I have built great friendships from only being here for a few months. The hardest part of my job is probably the repetition. I have no complaints but if there was one thing I'd change it would be to change up the routine. The most enjoyable part is being around people that I truly get along with

Extremely "clicky" environment. Pay is fair but there is a very high expectation on your productivity that causes a lot of stress. You are timed for everything including getting water from the cooler and taking a minute to reset yourself between angry/frustrating customer phone calls which causes built up stress.
They often find new ways around paying employees their earned bonuses. Should have more supervisors on duty for the amount of employees there are. This job consists of many "supervisor-only-approved-exceptions" so there are often line ups at supervisor desks from employees for approvals. Supervisors can be nice but also have a shady rep. Overall, would recommend for desperate financial moments as they hire quite easily, but would not recommend for a long term or life long job.

The company started 20 years back with a small repair garage giving credit to bad credit citizen or immigrant who aren't eligible to get a bank loan. By Culture they still have the same garage-shop mentality. Ther are no HR department so no such employee policy and no work ethics rule. The company has 98% ladies employee and all of them are 45years +. if you need a young culture this is not the place for you. The company has enjoyed 29% for 20 years. Now dues to market competition and economic slowdown their profit margin go down from 10% to 1.7%. so don't expect a high salary and you can see lay off every month. If at all you are ambitious this is not a kind of company which will boost your career or gives recognition. For short-term engagement, this is a good place.

Having worked for Santander for 23 years I experienced alot of change. When I joined the company my main job was making a decision as to whether of not to pay a cheque or return it which involved data entry. Over time I progressed and was responsible for the organisation of the work to enusre that all the work was completed accurately and within stricttimescales. I had a very good working relationship with my colleagues and with management and I was well thought of. The hardest but most enjoyable part of my job was the overseeing and training of the departments work being transferred to Liverpool. This was at times stressfull but very rewarding when it was a success.
