For the most part, the job is pretty good. Most co-workers are laid back and are flexible with deadlines. The pay and benefits are quite good for entry-level positions. That being said communication among managers is quite poor. Everyone wants to be included on all info exchanges to the point there is too much and stuff is easily forgotten. And then it's never their fault, it's your fault for not reminding them. Working with independent communities and/or third-party organizations can be quite difficult as points of contact are hardly ever in the office and it's seen as disrespectful to find other points of contact. You're also expected to do overtime but don't get paid for it. Instead, it's banked in lieu of extra days off but there are so many rules around using it it's next to impossible. 

SIIT is an organization that provides an opportunity to participate with many of the different departments within the organization.  The management is always accommodating and looking for individuals who are upwardly mobile.  Additionally, SIIT encourages a sense of belonging and community among its staff, which is helped by the collaborative work environment.  This leads to a relaxed and fun atmosphere.

Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technology is a great place to work. Everyone is there because they believe in the mandate of the institution and you can feel that you are contributing to the building of a future for indigenous peoples. I found the work environment supportive and friendly.

A typical day is busy but everyone works as a team including our managers who are patient and understanding.  Hardest part of the job is not being able to satisfy everyone.  The most enjoyable part is when we all get together and get to know each other.

Most enjoyable was working with trainees throughout.  oft times the project coordinating lacked structure and due process.

I worked off campus and was given all the necessary tools and resources to teach my class.  I enjoyed working for SIIT very much.  Working with adults was a refreshing experience.

my coworkers were always so helpful when i was stuck on the job. when i needed more training the supervisor would get one of the more experienced employees to help with that which was awesome.

A great institute to work for.i look forward to working with them again, people are wonderful and courteous student were great and excellent learning experience.

I am a family man looking to support my family I love the work and it helped me to keep fit and in good health
Id go back if I had the chance, now that I have more tools of my own

It is not related to the security work I seek, but an okay place to work for. I would recommend people to work here if they have experience. It is a contract job.
