Government jobs will never pay as high as private sector jobs, and I was okay with that because I believed there to be high job security.  I was sadly mistaken.

The work environment itself was overly stressful, and most of the people working in the non-research or administrative business units were stressed out and filled with work-related anxiety.  

How many good people have to go on stress leave or develop stress-related health issues before the culture changes?

I was very disappointed with SRC. Some people are very lucky there however, not everyone is happy.

The worst part about my time there was in trying to voice any kind of problem. Managers would look at you like you spit in their faces. Even when I took my complaints to a higher level, I just ended up with a bigger bullying problem than when I began.

On the bright side, my experiences there helped me realize how important health and safety is and has sent me on my new career path.

Most of the people you work directly with are good people. It's the upper level management that is just awful. 
They claim safety is their top concern... Unless it gets in their way, then it's who cares.
Pay is low, but the benefits are pretty good.
Unless your a favourite of management, you WILL be treated poorly and less than garbage.

SaskAbilities was an amazing place to work. I held many positions here and enjoyed them all. The clients are wonderful people who are so passionate about their work and grateful for the supports they receive to attain their goals. Staff were incredible to work with and had such big hearts!

The work environment was great.
I did all of the networking and server support.
A typical day involved monitoring servers via SCOM, planning upgrades and lots of reading to stay up to date on technology.
The hardest part of the job was the limited staff. I did a lot of things on my own.

The job itself of crushing and grinding core samples was not that bad how ever the pay was barely enough to survive off of let along raise a family and the management could never manage to maintain the work load it was either we have no work or we need everyone to work 12 hour days

It is a great company to begin with. Work life balance is excellent. A lot to learn and it is competitive. Salary is good but not excellent. Hard to progress on the ladder. Takes time as there is lot of competition. 

Management is terrible and so is the pay. 
The people here are terrible individuals and have no respect for anyone else.
They think it's still 1950 and only have to pay people next to nothing in wages.

One of the best places to work in the whole of Canada. Governmental institution comes with a lot of benefits and most people are polite and really respectful

There is poor communication between departments.

Some supervisors are often not present or refuse communication from staff.

Work load will be too high for individuals and some supervisors blame the employee for not being efficient.
