The staff I worked with were encouraging, open, and supportive.  I enjoyed getting to work with them and learning from them.  The students I worked with varied in age from 5 years old to 17 years old.  It is challenging to work with students not only differing in age and socioeconomic backgrounds but also from different cultures and languages.  It also is incredibly rewarding to make even the slightest difference.

Chill place to work. Sometimes boring and monotonous but not stressful or strenuous.. The work was mainly  janitorial with the odd little maintenance task. Occasionally ordering supplies and doing mechanical rounds. The managers were good to deal with and seemed to genuinely care about the employees and their development. Not a bad place to work but nothing will blow your socks off. It is what you make it.

I have learned to care, look-out for yourself first. There is ME in 'team'.
Full of incompetent people, square pegs in round holes so
Do NOT go above and beyond, you will just make someone else look bad.
The culture is toxic, micro-managed, nepotistic.
I've 14 years of service and it's getting worse. I'm looking at other opportunities.

I was lucky to get a permanent job quite quickly but others have not been so lucky.  So many amazing educators are leaving the division or going on leaves  because it's just not worth the time put in, the uncertainty, or the piling expectations. Lots of higher ups making dangerous decisions (keeping unsafe students in schools) that are affecting staff and students.

It’s a good job with minimum work load. Big responsibility working with kids. Systematic routine. Though it’s casual but calls on daily basis. Should increase wage rate but doesn’t very frequently.

I like my job position as a library technician in an elementary school. The atmosphere is great with teachers and students using the library. I like the independence of my work in the day to day operations. The teacher librarian, principle and other system library technicians are very supportive.

Stressful.  Tough to get a Contract. No benefits for substitute teachers unless you have a contract.  Contracts can be tough to get unless you have a specialty.  You get called to schools all over Saskatoon, a wide range of classrooms, ages and environments.

Ideal working hours for families with school aged children (would not require before/after school daycare), summers and holidays off and a communal environment.

Always easy to communicate with and understand when a conflict arises with scheduling. organized and well planned. easy place to work. Head of the clinic is always very kind and well organized.

A place to work as you work a team of committed people.
There is a room for professional and carrier development.
The future benefit is superb and there is job security.
