Sasquatch Mountain Resort

A typical day at Sasquatch Mountain Resort begins with cash counting and continuously handling and serving customers throughout the day as well as doing some additional tasks here and there.

I've continued to develop my computer and technologies skills as well as maintain my experienced customer service abilities. I have also learnt to adapt to change under short amounts of time and pressure and work with people from all over the world. 

Management at Sasquatch are very accommodating to our staff needs such as time off and days / events off the mountain. The people who are here from all over the world have also made the work experience awesome as everyone brings their own individual stories to the workplace. 

The hardest part of the job is when it is quiet some days during the week and there aren't always tasks to be done and it becomes quite dragging especially when you're just daydreaming on being on the slopes! The most enjoyable part are all the people here, meeting as we all travel and making stories as we go.

Management seems inexperienced. 
No snow for weeks (they can't control that) - telling everyone to "stick in there" then proceed to fire on mass when the snow came, all the while I was lied to multiple times in my exit interview.  
I was layed off based on what I believe was personal opinion as I never got the chance to prove my worth in the position
Following weeks after laying many of the workers for "no longer needing them" they hired new people for those positions.

DONT RECOMMEND FOR INTERNATIONALS
I traveled to Canada purely for Sasquatch mountain just to get no work then get fired and have to leave the country and pursue work.. no longer able to work as a ski instructor due to season to season gap.

The company pays so little yet the managers expect you to do everything, they micromanage staff & tell you to do work that's outside of your responsibility all the time. 

Staff often get sent home & don't get enough hours.

The staff accommodations are not in the livable condition while the rent is crazy high. Very old buildings, tiny rooms with close to no furniture and no closet. Not enough bathrooms. 
There have been very bad water cuts in several bunks and the wifi doesn't work half the time. 

There is nothing around the mountain other than the ski resort, it takes over an hour to get off the mountain to do anything outside of work (grocery shopping, banking etc). 

Seasonal staff are generally really great people but some managers are so incapable and careless. 

This mountain is small and only open in the winter right now but they are making lots of positive changes towards year round operations, new activities and their management. They have a great culture and plan a lot of fun events/activities for the staff. (Although there was not a lot planned during COVID-understandably). 

There's lot's of room for improvement of course but it is nice to work somewhere where you feel valued, you learn lots of new skills and everyone knows everybody and feels like a little family.

I've been having a great time. Tons of snow, riding has been killer. Smaller resort so like a big family here. Read some other reviews, guess must be ex staff with attitude... Management has been great to me, go out of their way to help me feel at home. Discounts on food and rentals, free lift pass. Housing is good, your own bedroom too. They had power out, but the generators worked fine, so I don't know what the deal is. 
Pay is minimal, but they do give you raises if you work hard. It's a mountain, you're here for the fun!

Did one winter as a ski instructor and didn't get enough hours to break even. Snow school manager was a great guy and good boss but upper management is an absolute shitshow. Turnover is even worse than most ski hills due to the lack of respect you are treated with coupled with the isolation of living on hill. 

- No support from management.
- Managers actively seeking to remove you from your job.
- No morale amongst staff and a terrible environment to work.
- They seek international people because the locals know of this resorts terrible reputation.
- Overworked and burnt out is how everyone feels after two weeks.
- Working and living with the same people is a terrible idea.
- The housing is atrocious and they had no water or internet over Christmas so no one could contact their families or shower.

If you like being treated like complete and udder garbage by Management, then Sasquatch is the place for you!   Not only is the name a complete joke, but so is the Management.   They are completely reactive, rather than proactive in all aspects.   Management don’t train, but expect you to know everything about your job.   You are overworked, and under paid.   WorkSafe is nonexistent.

Great small family style mountain. Challenging terrain and nice gear to rent (for free). Staff Accommodations were well done, no shared rooms! Ya, had a few power outages, but they installed a new generator and was all good. Had a killer time until Covid hit. Nice that they didn't kick us out like all the other resorts though! I'd definitely come back.

Sasquatch was a really fun workplace. There are small amounts of staff and you really get to know everyone so well. Most staff are on working visas and live in the staff accommodation which is lots of fun. Pay is pretty low, but you don't need to work too hard and get a free ski pass and free equipment use for the year.
