Sawridge Inn and Conference Centre

Sawridge would be a great place to work, it has some amazing staff. The problem is the management. The GM has issues with paranoia and control, always believing that people are deliberately trying to sabotage the hotel. She swears at and insults staff in front of other staff members, customers, and guests. If a dispute arises she has no interest in resolving it, instead going with the threat of if she hears another word about it, no matter if its true, everyone involved will have their employment terminated. She discusses confidential information in the open, commenting on such things as mental illness. She is so abrasive and so confrontational that some staff have developed such high levels of anxiety that they become physically ill at the thought of meeting with her. The company itself is fantastic, but the GM at the Peace River location is an absolute menace. 

Serving is serving.  A typical day at work was prepare for your night ahead, polish silverware, restock condiments, learn the specials, put a smile on your face and always, always, always, have amazing customer service. I wouldn't really say that there was a "hard" part of my job because its same thing every day just different people. If anything was difficult it would be difficult customers, but again put that smile on your face and try to still give them a great experience no matter what happens. Overall the company is great, there is something about hotel staff that is different then a food chain. Everyone including front desk, housekeeping, maintenance its one big family.

I loved working there! The work hours were perfect for me. The overall experience n atmosphere was excellent!
I got to work with some very amazing people who made my job more pleasant as they were there when I needed extra. Some of them I new from past employment at the Sawridge. I also learned a lot from the chef.

It's a nice company to work with.
Working in Jasper though has so much turn over of employees,since it's a faction place and a seasonal town.

Sawridge is a nice and comfortable place to work, with cheap staff accommodation, staff events, and staff activities.

I was lucky to be in a good department, and my time there was very enjoyable.

I had a good manager and he guided me all the way through being a competent worker.

Seeing others complain about their department makes me wary of the other heads of department, but mine was overwhelmingly good.

This was a new experience working for the first time like housekeeping and laundry, my Supervisor was and excellent human being always available to help and they provide a very good training.

I truly enjoyed my job as a reservations agent. I enjoyed making sure that the guest was going to get their best stay possible. 

I enjoyed being a part of this tremendous team and learning new things every day!

I became a great employee. I was on time, fun, respectful and my Supervisor was awesome to work with. My co-workers assisted me in the cleaning skills I still use today.

A typical day would include checking guest in/out, making reservations, communicating with management regularly. In the slower seasons, the hardest part would be trying to keep busy. I most enjoyed meeting new people everyday.
