What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The lack of resources for educational assistants to do their job effectively.  EAs don't get enough hours to make a living.  No pay for school holidays.  Too many children who need help and not enough support from higher ups.  No possibility of job advancement.  EAs having to be take on too many roles but without compensation.  Students falling through the cracks.  

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It's ok.  It depends on the quality of admins and teacher's classroom management skills.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
It depends.  It's a job full of highs and lows.  It can be stressful when students are struggling and behaviour challenges arise and there isn't a cohesive plan.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Getting to see all the children.

The toxic environment that is allowed to fester as abusive staff are protected by the union. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Stressful, toxic, clicky, abusive, challenging. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Process paperwork, answer calls from parents and other schools, complete attendance and contact family members if a student is not at school. Creating documents, faxing, emailing, and other secretarial duties as required.

The students.

Dealing with upper management who didn’t care about support staff or students.
A lot of inequities

Toxic to the core.
Admin are dishonest.
Parents are mocked

Emotionally taxing, never ending and always changing

There really has been nothing good. No resources and no support!

Must supply your own resources, no support, no consequences for behaviours, too many demands

The environment is mostly toxic!

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stressed all day, running around like a chicken with its head cut off.

The management here couldn't be any better. Positivity, encouragement, and kindness from the top down. Almost everyone works together diligently and nothing is rushed. The many different maintainence trades all help each other out and get along which is so rare in a workplace. 

The only down side is that the wages haven't kept up with the cost of housing. I would never be able to afford a home working at the school district, so I had to make the tough decision to leave an otherwise perfect job. 

Absolutely loved working as an EA and SEF! And loved working for the school district as a whole, lovely co-workers, amazing kids. The only reason I left SD 62 was because the support staff positions just don't offer enough hours and after 6 years I was tired of working 2 jobs.  

Feel I am part of team and mostly everyone I have met is very caring and kind .i enjoy working around intelligent and genuine  people. My interactions with students and families has been challenging at times but mostly rewarding.I have made many acquaintances and friends over the 9 years of employment .

Not a health environment-leadership is dysfunctional and woke.
no courage to really make change-more concerned with retirement and benefits. Many unhappy staff in board office due to unhealthy leadership.

its a great compony to work with note :the money is very average compare to other Companies but very good work culture and all the coworkers are nice and sweet. the health package is very good and good vacation.

It was a good place to work. It was a lot of good exercise and stamina to keep up with the job, you take the time and pace yourself and the job gets done.
