Schulich School of Business

This is a part time graduate research assistant position. I read and analyze news articles from a major daily newspaper with certain keywords, going back from current date to 2008.

I also identify organizations that strategically make or influence the policy related to the clean-tech and renewable energy sector, and interview the key people to understand their position and perception about the sector's status in Ontario.

I work part time at the Alumni Relations office, I think it is a fantastic opportunity for students seeking part-time job to make decent money while also being challenged at work and enjoy the exposure to alumni networks. The team I work with is great, they are very helping and accommodating with our school commitments so the work schedule is very flexible. The work load overall is not too demanding but sometimes we do get hectic when the events pile up.

I gained excellent communication skills while dealing with people of diverse abilities and backgrounds. I also enjoyed coming up with solutions to various demand of staff, current and prospective students.

The work environment at Schulich is very interactive, typically with both your co-workers and the students at the school.  Additionally, it is easy to maintain a balance between work and life as an employee within the school.

Typical Day: Working on real world projects and business cases.
Skills Learned: Business Strategy, Marketing Strategy, Accounting/Finance Basics, International Business Strategy, Operation and Process Strategy

A very intense program, but certainly worth it in the long run. Students really push themselves to achieve par their potential to prove their peers their intelligence and make a place for themselves in the community.

The Schulich School of Business at York University provided me the foundation I needed to switch careers. The school and professors provided me with a robust learning experience for which I will be forever grateful.

It is a great leaning experience under esteemed professors. They not only guide you and help you enhance your knowledge to an advanced level which is suitable fir the industry.

Great place to deliver educational material, great food during lunch break and very spacious for many members in the academic community. Very great place.
