Scoop used to be great back in the day. Their dynamics have shifted to ONLY making money more than customer service. They’re pushy with a scripted approach on every phone call. Absolute call center workspace. Here, you’re not catering to the beautiful world of insurance, but rather filling company’s unrealistic financial goals. Unnecessarily stressful work environment. 4 seconds over break time and you get a message from management asking you to hop back in the queue. They’ll demand you to “Drop a client you’re currently working with to take a new prospective phone call”. This leads to brokers not being able to get back to existing clients and delivering bad customer service. Scoop Demands heavy work outside of working hours. Little to no time for follow up for outbound calls. Brokers are forced to use their break times to complete company work like making applications or sending important emails. Incentives are decent, only if you work like an animal. Not a single breather moment. Absolute micro management!!! Management will mentally torture you to the point of you quitting. Each week there are multiple applicants so they’re not worried about losing an employee. Scoop Used to be better earlier. Varying knowledge from TL’s and Underwriters creates a chaotic environment eventually resulting in misleading customers. Since brokers are the folks who face clients, they simply remember US and leave horrible reviews online. Think twice, maybe thrice before applying. 

Scoop started out very well, they had a great training program and paid for everything to get my RIBO License which was great. Coming out of training they provided a lot of support and made you feel comfortable. As long as I was exceeding targets there were no issues, but once I had a slow month things really turned. Management started to micromanage me, told me how terrible I was doing for the month and I need to do better, if I went a day without a sale I was required to have a one on one with my manager the next day. All of this attributed to low motivation and really created a toxic environment which kept my sales lower. I asked to switch departments when they said 'You're doing great in sales, you won't like any other department'. Beyond that, the pay structure changed all of the time which made things very confusing and difficult to make commission. The free lunches and drinks were a great perk but didn't make up for the toxicity that started creeping in a year or two ago. I left about a year ago now and everybody I talk to that still works there says it has only gotten worse.

The training team was fantastic.  License test was hard, but not outrageous if you pay attention during training. Everything they teach you is worthless as soon as you get on to the sales floor.  Systems don't work the same. Rules are more like guidelines. Sales has its own rules you have to follow which you most likely won't learn about until you break them. Expect lots of coaching. All of it geared towards making as many sales as possible. But you will never be good enough.  Your moral compass will need to be thrown out the window to feel successful. Only making money matters here.  If you do not care about how you treat other people, you may be able to tolerate this job. 

On the bright side they’ll train you and pay for your ribo licensing and registration fees. 
The training itself is intense and very condensed, expect 11-13 hour days on average.
the scoop training is very very unorganized and inadequate for the role, you’ll be thrown to the wolves and instead of support they’ll force you to take incoming calls and expect you to know what to do, they’ll make poor risks acquire unnecessary documentation from service Ontario as a form of mitigation and those risks are 60-70% of the daily calls.
Don’t expect much leadership if you’re in the sales side if things, it’s all about how much you convert and they’ll ride you if your numbers are low, it’s legit a call centre roll.

If you are a new broker you will find this place very stressful  with all the duties are required you need to take big amount of transfers  per day  and you have to pay for every transfer you take 
No time to follow up 
Hardly get any help  
 Even if you get lucky  and you  get a sale qthe manager  on duty can take hours 
and could be in the next day  untillYou get a reply back  then you  have to do the work almost three times because you have to put your notes in a certain  way and remarks in a different  way even if its the same info and you have to fill  the  application  with the same info for the third time  its really really hard to please them 

First they try to hide in interview phase is this is not a call centre, fair and well it is because they have a big book of business with less broker to service them and management believes in metrics than customers service even if they dont agree. Maybe a good place to start if you are getting into insurance, and them please move away because they are not worth the time after 1 year

I struggled with this job. It is very clique - like and if you don't fit in, well - tough.  Its a call center environment and they push you to take enough calls (that you have to pay to take) and then your customer service slides and you can't put the effort into closing a sale. They advertise it as work from home but you really can't unless you are a top performer.  

Great place for you to start your insurance journey. They have a great teaching program to take the RIBO license and give lots of support at the beginning.  Then, the requirements to keep the job are insane, like 20 calls a day, 30+ files to work per day + constant meetings and feedback on how much time you spend with notes and on a file. 

Think twice before applying to work at Scoop Insurance. Although the training for your RIBO license is great, once you start on the floor you have very little support. Very difficult to offer great customer service as you barely get any time to make any follow-up outbound phone calls. The positive is they offer free lunches every other week. 

Good place to get your foot in the door and get ribo licensed.. thats pretty much it. Vacation starting at 3 weeks is great, and the hours are great as well with flexibility. 

However, highly stressfull environment. The company cares more about sales than the actual service to their clients.
