This once-great company has been steadily declining since new management took over. The current dispatchers and office staff are not friendly or inclusive, with an "us vs. them" attitude against their employees. A "fire-bro" culture may be great for rookie candidates, but if you are any bit mature, you will be dismissed as a problem, as opposed to a contributing employee. Heaven help you if you have any yes/no questions, safety observations, or comments. The best advice to new people is not to ask questions, go where the dispatch tells you, and not expect any promises to be kept. 

On the plus side, they are so short on people that they now pay full-day rates for travel. Some of the medical sites are decent during the winter. If possible, avoid the head office and the crew house. Do not accept any full-time offers. Brace yourself for token rewards being handed out randomly to other staff members. 

A typical day is chaotic, revealing the operation managers' lack of capability. Learned quickly that management resorts to gaslighting, promising full-time work but often leaving you on unpaid standby. The workplace culture is marred by toxic leadership. Sharing close quarters without proper arrangements highlights disregard for health. The only enjoyable aspect is the camaraderie with fellow disillusioned colleagues. Beware of empty promises and prepare for inadequate living conditions.

They start off nice then once you don't meet there needs they let you go. If your over quilfied they fire you to hire young less experienced staff. Your also expected to help out for free the bosses needs ie local hockey team security detail  they provide accommodation but there not worth staying at unless you want to sleep in a room with 2 other stinky disrespectful young punks. 
There trucks are ok. But don't expect 7 days a week of work more like maybe 3 then sit n wait. And don't tell them your skilled in other areas or they put you to work with pay promise they don't keep. 
My opinion go else where.

Being able to work alone, when sent out the hotels are nice and there’s no worry about doing tickets

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Lack of communication. Dispatch can be temperamental, no respect for work life balance, low pay, constant worry about being paid properly travel is included in day rate

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Definitely cliques and until you get to know them it’s snobbish atmosphere.
Lack of support for employees who are on the road and if you need time off you’re benched until the feel like you are punished enough

Be very careful when applying for this job. Even if you apply for casual they offer “full-time” which may or may not match any of your actual job qualifications. The “salary” is contingent on being in Grand Prairie, staying in a crew house with random firefighters, many of whom are not ideal roommates. Management will give you the weirdest combination of excuses, blaming, and shaming if you ask any sort of questions. I wasn’t paid on time, had to pay for my own PPE, and received zero site visits. For being a safety company, they are patently unsafe. 

I worked in the office for Scott Safety for about 2 years in Whitecourt. They made some drastic moves in in upper management about 1.5  years ago, which in my opinion should have happened awhile ago.  This move really turned the morale around in the office in a positive way.  The field staff were great to work with and the office team was amazing.  Even though I was only there for 2 years, if I was ever to move back my first stop would be to Scott Safety hoping to be hired on again.  This company is very family orientated and I have the utmost respect for everyone there.  If anyone wants a well rounded company to work for I totally recommend Scott Safety.

This company is far beyond the other ones out there when it comes to professionalism.  They set their standards extremely high and everyone lives up to that standard.  The atmosphere in the office is amazing, they make you feel right at home and they are a very close knit company.  The have brand new fleet which goes without saying that they care about their employees.  I have been with them for 2 years and I have never been without work. They seem to be busy all year round  the medical division.  I totally recommend this company to anyone..

Nature of my particular job could be pretty stressful. Dealing with new people on site. This issues common for any company.

Work environment is friendly and professional. Dispatcher always trying to do his best to accommodate your schedule.

I’ve been with Scott safety for many years and have yet to find another company that is as generous with ensuring that my time spent while working for them is paid to me regardless if it’s billed to the client or not. An hour here and there may not seem like much but it does to my family so it’s nice to know Scott Safety makes it worth my time away from home

Flexible hours. Good pay rates

Short notice on deployments. Just a little more would be better

Excellent, in my experience. They are on top of keeping credentials up to date
