Really good place to start a Job in Canada. Good pay as well. Working as a Mechanical Assembler at Scott Springfield MFG in Calgary has been a very positive experience. The company provides a supportive and safety-focused work environment where quality and precision are genuinely valued. Training is thorough, and expectations are clearly communicated, which makes it easier to perform tasks efficiently and confidently. The team culture is respectful and collaborative, and supervisors are approachable and willing to help when challenges arise. I appreciated the emphasis on continuous improvement and proper use of tools and procedures, which helped me develop stronger mechanical and problem-solving skills. The workload is steady, and the processes are well organized, allowing assemblers to stay productive without unnecessary stress. Scott Springfield MFG also demonstrates respect for its employees through fair scheduling and a professional workplace atmosphere. Overall, it is a solid company to work for, especially for individuals looking to build experience and grow their skills in mechanical assembly within a manufacturing environment in Canada.

I work on the shop floor and it's been good except the upper management or office workers are not very supportive. Two office coworkers I knew were apparently heavily micro-managed in layout. It feels devastating knowing that they work hard to the point they would bring their laptops home after work and work some more, and do the same on the weekends. Despite all their efforts, it seems never enough for the managers and it shouldn't be that way where the employees leave at the end of the day feeling belittled and crying in the bathrooms or their car. Upper management or office people need to invest in learning more about psychological safety for their employees more so than teaching new hires the technical work.

I liked a number of the workers and administrators and the company culture was the best part.  Liked having an opportunity to grow but the company doesn't provide the best experience for young tradesmen looking for advancement and financial progression.  The management has room for improvement but the company is great for someone looking to get a foothold in the Calgary industrial workforce and I would recommend to young people who just need a job for a short period.

In the office: Upper management has no idea what's going on 99% of time, they are all just waiting to retire so they don't care.
Middle management is completely incompetent. They are unable to effectively do there job. 
The floor management is very good, very helpful and always knowledgeable and willing to help.
Best part about working here is leaving at the end of the day. 

Not a good place to work for hard working and honest people. Good for those who have some connections with the higher ups or in the management offices as they can get promoted without any qualifications/experience. While the hard working and qualified people will stay stuck on the same positions no advancement in spite of saying you can advance. All that said the pay is quite low.

Lots of mistakes and accidents.  Because of bad and unqualified lead hands and supervisors.
  And properly trained workers most of the lead hands there are apprentices and most of the supervisors there are not properly trained for the position they have . It's all about quantity and no quality there . Get the work done fast because we have a deadline to meet

This job is very challenging to say the least, although with the people at hand it will only get easier as they teach and collaborate ideas with one another. No matter what ethnicity or background. No discrimination is one of their best policies, this job is fun and hard. Lots of room for journey man careers and advancing in the trades field here! Overall 9/10 worth it!!

Not only did the pay suck, but so did the culture. The name of the game is to cover your own butt because you will be thrown under the bus at every opportunity. 

The general managers are nice and seem competent. Engineering... Can't say the same. HR are also particularly bad at their jobs but will still try to screw you over anyways. 

Not a good place to work for hard working and honest people. Home of BACKSTABBeRS, management favors liars rather than honest.salary increase is never a priority only promises,so if you are planning to apply to this company , learn how to be a liar first. Being liar is a big asset .Good Luck!!!

Work is  unsupervised as   you know your job.  Daily meeting, read  plans,   follow  job book  load material, cut, measure for accuracy
