Screamfest

I enjoyed working at scream fest a lot, though it only comes around seasonally for Halloween. It was fun being able to dress up for work making it feel as though the entire month of October was Halloween for me. At scream fest, though, like many other workplaces that serve alcohol some customers were rather alarming, those of who were handled in safe manners and there were very few times friends I or friends of mine had any complications. This not being my first job, I already had experience with eerie customers, though working at scream fest being a lot more hands on I learnt a lot more about how to deal in those kinds of situations.
Most of the managers at scream fest are related because of it being a home owned company and I found that they were all extremely stable as hard as it may have been. I made friends easily at scream fest and it really felt like a home away from home.

I started working at Screamfest for the first time in October of 2016. Not many benefits are given, however, I really enjoyed and loved how friendly everyone was and how easy it was to talk to anyone. I worked as a rides attendant and shifts were always from around 6:45 to 12:30 which would sometimes get boring and feel long especially on slow days. Overall would really recommend as a first job or a short seasonal position and will definitely be looking forward to coming back for the year 2017!

Loving all parts about Halloween I love Screamfest. Screamfest management is generally very nice but don't expect to receive any help from Stampede security as they make it clear they are not there to protect actors. Five hour shifts from 7-midnight, always. No breaks unless you ask for the washroom etc. Ridiculously fun way to blow off steam! This is the kind of job you work because it's so much fun not because you're being paid well; everyone including Team Leads are paid minimum wage.

This place was fun to work at in the beginning. The customers were very pleasing. If they hit you by accident they were very apologetic. My coworkers in my haunted house were great to be around. However, the security team hired by screamfest were not kind or professional to the workers. One of the security members (goes by Patches) was verbally abusive to employees and customers. When I brought this to the attention of the head of security, she told me that he speaks to everyone this way. Would not recommend working here.

- 5 hr shifts every Friday and Saturday nights with the occasional Thursday and Sunday
- Improved in teamwork and working as a collective
- Management was very productive, with routine and regular checks throughout all 6 houses
- Amazing coworkers, shared a lot of laughs
- The long nightly hours with little to no breaks
- Watching customers' reactions when they experienced the full, true effect of the haunted house.

The people working alongside me were great, but the management was sometimes intimidating. It was very stressful to be in such a chaotic environment for so long, but if you don't mind loud noises, flashing lights, and dealing with the public, it would make for a great seasonal position. 

I was an actor here and I learnt a lot of social and customer service skills. I also gained a lot of self confidence and it helped boost my self esteem. As it was only a short term job over Halloween it only went for a few weeks at a time but my time there was very enjoyable.

I had a great time working here. You got to be in costume all night! Scaring people was fun as well!  The only downside was you didn’t really get breaks while working in the haunted houses, just a couple min to grab a quick snack….other than that it was fun! 

From the moment you walked into work to the moment you left you were smelling and enjoying yourself because of the welcoming atmosphere did get a little bad on the feet cause no sitting was allowed

It's a fun temporary Job and good place to learn skills. I met alot of great people working here. Never getting breaks is a downside. Harassment from customers is a problem.
