It’s a good place to work as it pays more than other places in the city and they always have job openings as turn around is vary high as people move to new departments. For the time I have been in tech support everyone is super helpful when there is an issue. It is a stressful workplace as there are a lot of phone calls and people talking at the same time. Sometimes co workers can get on each other’s nerves and usually it is handed my Management or by the co-workers. There are some things that could be improved like break  times are short. For a 8 hour work day you have two 10 min brakes and a 15 for lunch. I find myself rushing to finish eating before having to get back to work.

Absolutely no morale no real incentives for those who work long term. Pay cap after 3 or 4 years. As of right now, your raises will not reach $20 as a monitoring station attendant there.   Immediate managers are OK, higher ups don't care or communicate.  Fellow employees you work with will either do whats expected of them, or do bare minimum.  There are no consequences to those who choose to not do their job. Its even worse when short staffed. plus management does not help. instead they expect you to work as if fully staffed.  Extremely high call volumes most days. 

This was an interesting place, as there was an array of people to work with.  The management were not helpful when it came to accommodating staff in any manner.  More than one person had quit in the few short years I was there, due to very poor managerial staff.  The pay was so-so.  The benefits were great, until you remember that you pay a portion of that off your regular pay.  Great place to gain experience working with a diverse, varying group of people, personalities, ages (18-67), interests, etc.

Worked there for numerous years and saw great things from the CEO, but anyone in management below him does not show the same culture they put forward. HR is there only to protect the company and the people who promote the bad behavior in management. Staff are treated with complete lack of respect and labour laws are far from followed. 

As they have currently shut down Ontario operations this is now a mute point.  However management from both out west and Ontario were terrible.  No one listened to general issues until they would bloom into major problems.

If you are a happy person trust me this is not the job for you. They do not enjoy somebody who smiles all the time.Management is horrendous. They do not care about their staff only their paychecks.

management makes the Job more stressful than it has to be. Cool place to be on the weekends without management. short breaks. easy job once you know your role.

Great people to work with. Opportunities for those that want them and will work for them. Can be stressful at times, especially depending on who your manager is. Benefits and pension were okay. 

My time at Securtek was a great learning experience and I really enjoyed my time there. My coworkers were all easy to get along with and we worked great together.

Co-workers are great.  Stressful job for rewarding.  Typical day is answering many phones calls, taking burglary and fire and panic and medical alarms and dispatching appropriate pd, fd ambulance etc..
