Pay is competitive, Christmas bonus, BBQ's on the fridays before a long weekend. The three plants are basically run very well with great management and coworkers ****RED FLAG**** However the stupervisor for the electrical department is extremely hard to work for. To say he's temperamental is a GROSS understatement! Don't expect any direction from your boss, communication skills are that of a five year old. The worst part is that human resources and upper management support these behaviors and even laugh and commend him? MANY complaints made by TONS (no exaggeration) of employees in the (electrical/mechanical/programming) departments about him. Many employees quit due to this. 

Mandatory 53 hour work weeks during peak and instant layoffs during slow downs. 
 Don't get your hopes high for annual raises (at best expect $0.50 per year).
 No growth opportunities.
 Lack of Culture and its not a healthy work environment. In fact its a stressful work environment with unrealistic expectations of maintaining very low design hours. That is the sole basis of KPI - Design Hours.
 You are expected to be as efficient as the person who has 25 years of experience designing fixtures even if you only have one year experience.
 
 Communication among colleagues is discouraged.

I worked for 3 years for the Fixture department in this company. Overall company is good place to work and have lots of benefits but my department was literary in mess. Manager during my tenure treat his employees like his slave. Designers are revolving door for him. He hired 10 designer during this time and Fired/Laid-off 8. So you can guess his mentality. I guess, other departments have better communication and understanding but not the Fixture Department. Don't join if you are planning for long term goal.

Select Tool has a culture problem, every time you turn around there's something wrong. Something not working. Something that needs fixing. 
Management is completely incapable of solving any problems as every manager from every department blames every other department and every other manager. 
Employees try as they may to suggest changes only to be told to shut up and sit down. 

I worked at Select fir approx 14 months. I enjoyed my time in the cnc programming dept up until i was laid off for mismatch of skills. The level of skill required to program has to match your level of patience for programming repetitively the same style of many parts and clips. Programming in this environment is way different than programming Mold & Die parrs

A very fast paced environment at times, many different projects on the go, so always a learning opportunity in one area or another. People were easy to work with for the most part, and the company seemed to take pride in their employees. I was unfortunately laid off due to a work shortage, but I certainly enjoyed my time there and would consider going back.

Great people. Great products. 
They are leading their industry for a reason and will be around for years to come. It is a safe company to work for and you would not need to worry about your position if you get your work done and stay out of the drama that occurs (as it does in every workplace). 

Job was a job, like any other job, except this job involves communication between all skill trades, parts, engineers, programmers, breakdown packaging and field travel installation and service + warranty.

This job gave me a very broad understanding and learning curve to complete tasks properly and effectively in the automation industry. I successfully worked as part of a team and well as individually.
