I enjoy coming to work everyday, I work with incredible people who share my passion for the trade, as well as a drive to accomplish the task at hand. I've learned alot in the short time that I've been here, and the leadership has been very patient and understanding along the ride. 
I started at a job that was close to being finished in it's current stage, and there were stressful days, but I was able to take the challenge in stride because I was surrounded by like-minded colleagues who helped me settle into the role. 
The hardest part of the job so far is strictly personal, it was a challenge to adapt to the job as it had been done up to that point, which created challenges and stress as I worked to absorb the prints and processes that had got us to this point, but I believe that I can give helpful input on the future, along with my colleagues to streamline the process going  forward. 


JHA in the morning to get some practical knowledge in the brain, safety and diligence is priority, then move on to addressing tasks for the day or time duration, working efficiently and effectively to get the assigned tasks completed. I've learned so much about electrical from journeyman actually explaining how things work at the same time as installing what we've discussed so things are done properly, putting a smile on my face puts a smile on my peers faces and that helps ensure everyone is in a better mood! The hardest part of the job is sometimes going home, great environment to be in. The most enjoyable part of the job is having a team you can work well with, people who are eager to work, learn and get what needs to be done without unnecessary hostility!

Management genuinely tries to make you feel welcome and stays very present and supportive. They had a few growing pains early on, but overall my experience at Seltrek was very positive.
There’s always plenty of work to keep you busy. The most challenging part of the job is the large site size — mobility and clear communication can be difficult at times. On the flip side, the best part was definitely the coworkers and the strong sense of camaraderie. Being able to follow a project from start to finish, tackling all the challenges along the way, was genuinely interesting and helped me build valuable skills.
It’s a shame the job ended because there were no local positions available to transfer to. I’ll genuinely miss the Seltrek crew.


Basically just running back to fix all the messed up work that the sub contractors have done. The foreman, Mat, couldn’t seem to grasp a good orderly process to complete tasks and would have to waste time sending guys back to fix said same tasks again and again. His Management style is quite scattered and is always looking for what is easiest and will just barely “pass”. No pride or quality in any of his work or management.

Poorly managed company that does rapid hires and rapid lay offs for big projects. The owners allow apprentices to run projects which inevitably turn into a mess from lack of experience, skillsets , and planning. Work days are chaotic and unorganized with minimal planning ahead done and a serious lack of communication between foreman and workers. Very political and negative atmosphere with bosses attempting to go back on agreed upon  wages and benefits and force workers to stay for “mandatory” overtime at a moments notice. 

From the top down the toxicity flows. Cheap owners, immature project managers, aggressive foreman, you name it they have it. Excuses for poor management and planning come in the form of "well that's construction" while taking no accountability. When you bring up a concern it is laughed at and brushed to the side like a joke. Every job becomes a complete disaster with management only showing up on site when problems occur and only to yell and scream. The best part about working was being sent home by the project managers for whatever reason they thought of this time. 

The experience is terrible. They show no concern for individuals, setting unrealistic expectations and standards. There's also a disregard for personal safety and well-being. One should be ready to face unsafe working conditions and engage in questionable activities. Management is completely disconnected from the field.
Management does not treat the employees well, as they're too focused on profits to care about their staff. Morale is very low. Many employees stay solely because of the camaraderie. The quality of work is poor, and most workers notice this as soon as they arrive on site.

I find each day at Seltrek has unique challenges, I am never really sure what I will be doing next.  I have developed so many skills while innovating solutions in processes I have lost count, I have always felt appreciated for doing so.  The company is growing incredibly rapidly and with that comes lots of opportunity for improvement of process and learning.  What makes the work so rewarding is the friendly, inclusive and supportive team in the office.  It really does feel like a team here, and that is rare these days.

After being hired on with Seltrek to do some suites out of town, we were surprised to find that there was no affordable living options (even though they said there was two places to stay with contractor rates...lie) and the guys we met on site were unwilling to answer questions or help us find material on site. They refused to share any company tools (even though we were company employees) and had nothing but terrible attitudes everyday. 
There was obviously A LOT of miscommunication between the office and the field.
I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone looking for a career.

There is never a dull moment, I'm always learning and enjoy it! The company has a friendly nurturing culture and treats us employees very well. Seltrek is technology oriented which could be tougher for the old dogs but us young guys love it. The PM's and office are easily approachable for any questions ect. that come up that is above the foremans knowledge.
