What is the best part of working at the company?
Small organisation where people know each other.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Its disconnected from reality leadership.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
They are unsupportive. While they talk about all kinds of positive values, they don’t actually live by them day to day. In short, they don’t practice what they preach. Leadership is focused on self-preservation, risk avoidance, and is not open to change or innovation.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Only about 20% of my time is spent doing meaningful work. Another 20% goes to dealing with unnecessary nonsense that should never have existed in the first place. The remaining 60%? Navigating internal politics, personal agendas, and performative bureaucracy that adds zero value.

What is the best part of working at the company?
It was great to work with the senate of Canada I had great manager and great colleagues, huge thanks to all of them!

It was very calm full of respect environment

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Respectful and honesty and perseverance 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Every day was great day for me

- I was not told in which building I was going to work in. On my first day I had to go  to HR office and ask. This was the first of many communications issues. 
- My manager kept avoiding my requests for accommodations. 
- My team and I were not given essential tools to do our jobs.
- Management would not support or listen to our needs. 
- Everything was disorganized. 
- Many managers yet extreme lack of efficient leadership. 


Worse work environment I have seen in 30 year career in public sector. It’s relatively small, writes its own rules and has no real accountability. Not subject to atip either, so Canadians will never know how badly managed the place is. If you have a problem, you have no real recourse since it’s not part of public service. It’s bad, and i would not encourage anyone to work there.

Working at the Senate has taught me about office jobs, government employment and how to live on my own in a foreign city. I have grown exponentially through the research I completed, as well as the professional conduct I had to maintain with contacting colleagues and services (such as other Senate offices or Immigration Canada).

As a student, this was a dream job for me. I was able to flourish in an incredibly collaborative environment that encouraged indviduality and undertaking projects no matter your position. I was trained very well but also trusted to further my knowledge and work without being micro-managed; it was incredibly fulfilling.

Incredible job with limitless possibilities to branch out and open other doors as you make great friendships with people that have amazing work ethics. A great place to learn what the government does for this country as well as the time spent on research to truly serve Canadians right.

it's a great job if you don't have a criminal record it's fast face and hands also slow pacing everybody there gets along with everybody it's great the people are really good there are the senators are really good The Minister's really good and the Securities really good there it's a good place to work

very rewarding

Days just fly because there was lots of work to do.  Management and colleagues where fun to work with and very helpful.  I had the opportunity to learn the use of 2 financial software (free balance and Unit4) which I enjoyed.
