Sentinel Security

Just shortly would like to say that it is not the best place to work at. Though it is not too bad for part time job to get extra income. Do not recommend putting all your efforts as you can be highly discourage later on. A guard could be dealing favoritism a lot in the company. Very expensive parking once arrived to the site. Company does not keep their word for uniform agreement when you are paying it in installments - instead of installments guard will be charged full amount at once even signed agreement says otherwise (keep in mind if you need pay your rent and pay check is half what you expected). As a guard you might be standing for hours without a proper break when you fellow coworkers will be sitting on a chair, chilling. Shifts can be simply canceled without prior notice too. Would recommend keep this company just for part time if want to get some shifts here and there. 

I have been working for this establishment for over 2 months and what might I say for you is to stay away if you do value yourself, family, personal life and wellness. During coverages you won’t be able to take 30 minutes of breaks because you don’t deserve it. Even if you need to use the restrooms your best bet would to get 5 minutes of washroom breaks. Pay is okay but do not expect any vacation pay or benefits. Plus deductions which decline the “okay” to minimum wage. The management will not want to have a conversation with you regarding your availabilities because you are their personal robot. It’s worth to say that you might  get to work 16 hours some days because they cannot find personnel to cover shifts.

Typical my job was filled of making sure alcohol didn't leave which ever establishment and other substances didn't enter. I've learned how to deal with people that where under the influence and to deescalated certain confrontations. Management never shied away from assisting me and there company employees whenever situations occurred. My hardest part of my job was dealing with clients when there were under the influence because how do you tell them stop of they are the client and refuse to listen. The most enjoyable part of my job was being able to see different parts of Toronto as well outside of Toronto.

I would stay away from this company, as much as they try to be the best upper mgmt is basically just looking out for themselves and provides no support for the employee. I did leave on a good note but the entire time I was working I was very unhappy. Basically if you  work 8 hours that means 8 hours, no break and you can not sit down at all. I'm not lazy but they do take advantage of you. Just to save yourself please keep looking else were as this company is not the best.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Pay days are not bi-weekly. Semi monthly.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Chill. I really enjoyed the Christmas buffet.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Can be stressful depending on the site. Sometimes you have to deal with many addicts down town.

i check bags of employees of the site to make sure they have not stolen anything. I check trailers of trucks, making sure load bars at on and check the temperature of the trailer. Make sure the contractors have filled out the right documents before they enter the building. Management is great and very few problems occurred.

I’m glad to be part of this amazing company which continues to grow at a fast pace. It’s a nice thing to see client paying above average for our service . I can only say this based on my hourly rate. I have been with 5 other security companies and none come close to my current pay. Let’s take over Canada and change the meaning of SECURITY.

I don’t writ many revues . But I really want to express the greatness of this security company. I’m not saying this because I’m working here I’m saying this because I’m truly happy what I do . I haven’t felt this way in a long time . I have been in the security industry for 12 years . I have been with this organization now for almost 2 years .

Hey everyone want to inform those who read those who read my revue how great this company really is. I have been with Sentinel for 2 years and 4 months. i am grateful to be part of a great organization. Great managers great coworkers amazing clients and above all the owners are humble to their employees.

I work for sentinel as a mobile driver I really appreciate the managers and management very good and friendly and advise, if you work extra they pay you accordingly, and if you call sick they recognize well always, no harsh talk… over all I like and want to say thanks to all management
