I worked at ServiceMaster of Fredericton as a Project Manager for two years in the DR department. At first, it seemed like a friendly family business where I could learn a lot about the construction industry and gain some useful skills in management. During my first week at work, I was told that they would not have time to train me since the city had just gone through a big flood, and both project managers were overwhelmed with the amount of work. It was very understandable considering the situation. Well, 16 months later, I still had not received any proper training. I had to ask a lot of questions about proper procedures, and I would always get a half answer. Forcefully I had to learn a lot on my own and started to create my own processes to ensure my clients were happy with our work. 

-Bullying
During my employment at ServiceMaster, I had been mocked, bullied and always had me feeling as if I did not belong. (ex. 1 The Project Manager that was in the same office as I would always throw documents that were not his on to the floor near my desk. This is while I would be working at my desk.) (ex. 2 The Estimator that I was paired with on most of my projects would always go against my advice with construction methods and disagree on how I would proceed with repairing a home. This would create a lot of frustration within the office and confusion with the carpenters on site. She would often, without my approval, call contractors to inform them how and when work should proceed. This would be after I had already talked to the contractors, approved their quotes and scheduled the job.)

-All about the bottom line
The owners would always say that employees come first and that they are happy with the team they have created. Let me make this clear; their bottom line is the only thing that matters, not the clients, the employees or contractors. Everything in upper management is a game, a game of who has the better scorecards and more significant profits. Don't get me wrong; working for insurance companies is a challenging industry that does not allow us to make big profits. This type of management results in hiring cheap contractors with poor quality workmanship, complete projects within impossible timelines and having the employees stressed and overwhelmed. 

-Promises and wages
The conditions of my employment were that I would receive a raise after three months and that I would be paid time and a half for after-hour work. I did not receive a raise three months later; I received it a year later. At first, they would pay overtime as it was agreed, then they decided that for office work we should be paid regular time. I agreed with their decision and continued with my work as usual. Almost a year in, they decided that we would not be paid for after-hours office work. I disagreed with their approach and decision, and they went on explaining that we should be able to complete all of our work in our regular work hours. The Project Manager's favourite saying is '' there are not enough hours in a day''. I also remind you that I had not yet received any proper training at this point and had to do everything '' By the seat of your own pants''.

Suppose you are new to the industry and are looking for some good work experience. This is definitely not the place for you. Confused, depressed and frustrated, these are the feelings that you will be left with walking out of that building.

I liked ServiceMaster. It was a little bigger than the other restoration I worked for, so there were the different groups of people that were friends, and everyone was very friendly. Working at ServiceMaster was very enjoyable, and jobs were always completed full-heartedly. I was treated like family which made working and learning easier and more enjoyable. There were some things that I wasn't to happy about, like being sent out to Red Earth for a "2 day job" and them telling me that I can't go home after that second day because we weren't done. There was occasionally organizational issues as well as comunication issues. They could have told me that it could be a longer job, but they asked if I wanted to go out of town for 2 days. I had made important plans for the day I was supposed to be back, and since they kind of screwed me over, my boyfriend had to drive hours to come get me. But other than the slight organizational and communicational issues, I did really love the job and the company. Since I worked there, they may have worked on these issues and improved, but I'm not sure.

Got to shop around 7 am and checked rugs that I cleaned the night before to see if they were dry and could be rolled up.Put fans away, sweep floor, roll up rugs and put on shelf.Get my helper get in van and proseed to my first job.If I was ahead of schuelde phone my costomers to get in earlier or if I was running late let my next costomer know. After all my jobs were done I would call the office to see if any one needed anything done. Them come back to shop pass in all money and paper work. Check to see what I had any messages and if so make my phone calls ,and set up appointments for any one lookinng for estimate ect. I would check to see if any rugs furniture ect was dropped off to be cleaned. I would measure any rugs, and describe any other articles ,then mark them in a book .Then I would clean all rugs ect, hang then ,then set up fans to help then dry quicker .Then I would put all equipement away prep my van for the next day then sign out.Working at restoration some days are more demanding and you could have to work longer hrs .

Any person with a grain of self respect will NOT work here.There is job security alright... for only the desperate kind who can’t find a job elsewhere.Get to know people on a human level ...and they ALL say they would leave if they had any other opportunity.You get an immense instinct that this place is a revolving door as soon as you walk in.TURN AROUND AND LEAVE BECAUSE IT IS!!!!Very few have been there for a long time so that says a lot.There are a few “charming people” to convince you at the interviewing/orientation stages that this place is... DONT  FALL FOR THIS!!!!Its all smoke and mirrors until you realize that you made a mistake by accepting their employment ..which takes no time at all to figure out.The only thing they are good at is supplying you with company attire to advertise... seems like someone knows how to do their job adequately in that department.

I've recently been hired to work for this company cleaning one of many warehouses. all I can say is "its a job and nothing more". the management stinks to high heavens and there heavy favoritism and near constant threats of being fired over anything. There's no room for advancement and those who do advance are not terribly qualified. There no working with schedule to best fit your needs for medical related stuff and there no encouragement to do better and you just go and your morale is just really low. people fight about doing there jobs and the environment is unfair and no one talks or communicates problems. It's like talking to a wall most of the time nothing is done nothing is talked about and when something finally happens its issued as a threat. If I where you reading this review please for all that I can say Don't work here unless your just looking for a job and not a career.


I found the HR lady, to be very extremely disrespectful to staff, whenever I had any questions, she would constantly interrupt me and when asked if I wanted to say something, it's as if, she's talking to me like I'm a 5 yr old child!! She talked to me in a very threatening tone. She was very disrespectful, very belittling and showed absolutely no professionalism within the work environment!!! Whatever you do, DO NOT apply for a job with Service Master Clean Burlington, as the whole company treats you with such unprofessionalism and disrespect and treats you like your just a number, not a person!!! Stay away from this company and RUN, FAR FAR Away from it!!!! Horrible Bosses and no respect shown at all :(.

It was a decent short term position. I liked the employees at each location I was contracted to clean. I liked that I was able to work independently for the most part. It did sometimes before overwhelming to complete all daily cleaning and maintenance task thoroughly and properly with in set time periods, especially with the lack of training I recieved that felt rushed and was not supervisored for longer than a few shifts to make sure I was able to complete all tasks with no oversight. The only other negative aspect was that the locations were often not stoked, so I would have to make sure of the cleaning products I had for sometimes more than a few shifts. Overall, I did like the company and my time there. I appreciated the opportunity to work there temporarily.

Create work Orders to assure all personnel are completely aware of their Responsibilities for the day, Make sure they understand all tasks at hand. visit all Job sites Daily to assure goals are being met. Attend any new claims and provide a scope of work to be done and the most efficient way to succeed. Worked through three Catastrophe floods and improved on efficiency each time, Worked through Five House Fire Claims from demo to completion of Rebuild. The hardest part of my job was completing all tasks with a restricted cash flow. The most enjoyable would be seeing the final results and knowing I did everything possible to make sure it is the best it can be.

I started my days at 6am and finished at 10pm 
I oversaw 200 workers daily, managing transportation, meals, events, cleaning, all area's involved with running a camp , which we set up in 6 days and took down after 90 days as an emergency housing for High River , I had never managed a camp before and we did awesome , I dealt with the town councilors and had great communication with all contractors I had to deal with on a daily basis.
Communication was key in this situation and all ran smoothly , if we 
had issues they were dealt with immediately. 
I learned that when dealing with emergencies , keep on track and keep moving forward, asks for help if you need and expect support when required.

My day at work would usually start at 6pm until 9pm. I am responsible for making sure everything in the building is clean; wipe desks and chairs, vacuum and mop all floors, dust, change all garbages.
Ive learned how to improvise when i dont have a certain tool to get the job finished on time. Another thing i have learned is how to manage time wisely.
The management is great, i have a wonderful supervisor!
I wouldnt say that there is hard part to the job.
The most enjoyable part of my job is the people i get to talk to while cleaning and the satisfaction of finishing my work for each day.
