When working here you will be required to work extra time and not be paid accordingly and when taking time back you don't get to pick when you take it. Hard to use vacation time as you can't use it when you have programs running which is most of the time.  when interviewing they don't mention that you will have to work past 6pm but you do. very toxic management in place, expectations are extremely high for the amount of time they expect you to be there while not giving much notice when things change. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Interacting with the children when they requested or signed out books.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The noise was very difficult to teal with as an autistic person.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Kind and supportive, with an understanding of how my disability affected me at work.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Very busy. There was a regular stream of work there always.

- we formed trusting and honest working relationships
- being open to all team mates ideas and actions in a positive way
- freedom to express myself and be with enjoyable people

as a teacher I felt they were very fair in all that was required. Days at work depended very much on which school you were in and on the administration of that school, but there was always someone you could go to to talk things through and work things out with, whether through the administration or the associations that worked for your benefits.

The Seven Oaks School Division is dedicated to helping students achieve their academic goals. Students are from diverse backgrounds and each require different needs. The Seven Oaks School Division fosters learners of all types, and offers varied supports from students, staff, and parents.

I worked as a substitute EA for over 7 years and applied for every permanent position posted but never got one. The majority of the time, the postings as just to move permanent people around. Only real way of guaranteeing a permanent position is if you are a male or speak French. Otherwise it’s almost impossible to get in as a permanent!! 

I enjoyed my time working as a custodian. Pay, benefits and pension were amazing. Work was fast paced. Management needs some improvement. the equipment in the schools is old and broken.

The Seven Oaks School Division has over 3000 kids in it throughout 10+ schools. Their mission is to give the students the best education they can have. With after school programs, sports, summer camps, music programs, breakfast, and physical activity.
