Most days on the job are about dealing with problems for the trades. If the company can save money or time, then the Construction Assistant will deal with it. This could be replacing doors, drywall patching, painting, changing the size a door or window opening, etc.  The job also entails site cleanup after the trades. 

There was very little education and no room for growth. Although I asked about courses for training, this never occurred.

April is their deadline for bonuses and the company revolves around this. Everything is done for April. It's always about making that bonus. They will promise more than they give in the end too.

I found that the job consistently had another task added to the job description daily. They never compensated and basically told employees not to rock the boat.

The best part of the job was the variety of work. You almost never did the same job twice in a week and there was always something new.

Was hired after a short time from the first interview, the working hours were good , a typical work week was 8-5 Monday to Friday with a one hour lunch break and never had to work weekends. 
The only time that I had to go in was during Xmas shut down to check on some of the houses for a quick check to make sure that everything was okay. Most of the time I did find doors unlocked by the trades and the water was not turned of because some trades needed water but were to lazy or stupid to turn it off. 
Also ,not being a racist but many trades were immigrants and did not speak english well enough to communicate, company police was to have someone there that did but that was not always the case.

This was a very relaxed and enjoyable evnvironment and learned and gained knowledge about building new homes, hostessing, meeting new people and talking about the lots available and and answering questions regarding the different models of homes etc..

A company that gives back to the communities they build in and are very generous and nspire loyalty.  Highly recommend this home builder.  Many long term dedicated staff..

the Managers truly care about their employees. Some of the perks at Shane were the golf tournaments, christmas parties etc.

good excuse to buy more tools,good guys to work with,unfortunatly they like to lay people off more then ive seen but for what its worth its a great place to work
