Shaw Pipe

While the work was fairly repetitive, the vast majority of my co-workers were either positive or, at the very least, well-tempered and approachable. The pay was highly competitive for the market, with moderate room for moderate advancement. Shaw Pipe Protections is still by far the safest company I have ever had the opportunity to work far, with other companies that shall remain nameless showing me just how unsafe much of the rest of the industry truly is. You're home every night; You're paid well; Good benefits; Aside from one individual, ALL of the management staff (Over a dozen members) that I encountered on both of my two different employment opportunities with Shaw were very approachable, hands-on, friendly, competent and knowledgable, and very strong communicators with staff. All in all, call me biased but I personally loved working for Shaw Pipe (Despite having only been there 5 months total between two different employment opportunities), they were definitely the best employer I've worked for thus far. You'd definitely struggle to support a family on basic laborer wage, but if you're a single individual or just you and your partner, you'll be able to live a good lifestyle with what Shaw pays, and you'll be at ease knowing that in such a safe work environment, you'll make it home safely every night if you follow company protocol.

Met alot of good people, we worked as a part of a team a fun place to work good pay. There was always a opening for a change for employees to get a good pay it was a class job as a jeeper so it gave a opportunity for a labourer for a class job. Other class jobs had to be a high seniority and also had to be high seniority to work overtime whcih we would sign up. Awesome place to work until they closed down.

the hardest part being had very min training on the lenth of pipe i was moving but overall it was a pretty good job enjoyed learning new job!
i would have loved to stay there and think after a couple more weeks thing would have been great, but seemed that was not the case.

From the basics,  I started learning about the company as usual , I started out in the shipping yard unloading pipe from the railway , as well as prepping railway to have pipe loaded and shipped , I also got moved around the shaw pipe plant learning the entire process and getting the experience on how to do it .

Challenging work, able to develop troubleshooting skills on a wide variety of equipment.  Basic PLC programming and troubleshooting.
Overall a relaxed work atmosphere complimented by a great group of people to work with.

I leaned how to be more to be a punctual and professional person by following rules and getting along with others in my work environment . The most enjoyable part of my job was earning my pay check, there wasn't really a hard part.

Lots of different jobs to bid into when they came up, can learn alot.
Get to work outside or inside, depending on what you like.
Close to home, no traveling.
Great pay and ok benefits.
Overtime is optional.

Very good place to work, good pay, good over time, off on weekends, good management, lucky to work in this company, good benefits, 1o hours work a day

love the job and also the hours; the money was good and it wasn't too much of stressful culture. management was in tune with their workers and safety was central to everything.

OK place to work, management is ok, work is ok. New company bought Shaw, not much has changed yet but I'm expecting changes very soon.  Over all has been a very good place of employment
