I recently started working at Sherwood Electromotion Inc., and my experience so far has been nothing short of fantastic. From the moment I joined, I felt welcomed and supported by both my colleagues and the management team.

A typical day there was good, some people are nice and down to earth. you get enough work to complete in a day so it's never too boring and the managers aren't on your back to get the job done, you just get your job to be completed for the day and you complete it or finish it the next day or it'll usually go to the next person. The most enjoyable part of the job is going home to be honest. The pay does suck as they start you off at $13/hr for the type of work you're doing , it should be $16-$18/hr. Just. not enough money to pay bills and help out your family , you're helping out the company more than yourself. The day shift Team lead is a jerk and will insult you. Instead of trying to cope with you and work with you and  guide you to being better at the job you're doing. instead they'll just complain and move you around to different departments untill they move you out the door and find someone else. There is a so called work "efficiency" that you wont know about so if you're doing your best at something and it's not good enough to them then they'll just move you. I am not going to write a book about this company even though I probably could but take my word for it or don't take my word for it, its up to you. This company to me and many others, even most people that work there now would tell you there is no future.

The job assigned for the day is clearly defined and well instructed at the start of the shift. Hours are guaranteed and whenever my department is not that busy, the manager send me to another department, thus I started  learning new skills. Trainings are provided and trainers are very accommodating. The weekly townhall emphasize heavily on safety and quality. The constant reminder of the importance of safety and quality makes us (employees) to be mindful of what we are doing. The management people are visible on the production floor from time to time. The culture is very nice. Of course it is not perfect but the environment overall is something a serious working employee will love. Of course It is a different story for those who come to work just to comply with the 8 hours shift who don't care about safety and quality.   I consider taking written test after training as the hardest part of the job, followed by the challenge of locating the item or parts needed for the job assigned. They are manageable though but it sometimes take time . The most enjoyable part of the job is when your work was checked and there is no quality issue.

I've been working at Sherwood Electromotion inc. for 12 years and I'm very happy to say that I'm part of a diverse team of dedicated professionals. I'm proud working here because there is a positive team culture that is making a tangible impact on not only the environment with renewable energy, but clean transportation alternatives, that moves millions of people, goods and services.  Leadership is caring and supportive and following a subservient leadership style and management is encouraging and helpful, making sure feedback is provided in a timely fashion. KPI's are sound and objective and most importantly fair. Most enjoyable part of the job is there are challenging and exciting new projects going on that harness the potential and advance career development. Management also helps and supports continuous education. There are many reviews that are completely false and totally misrepresent the actual workplace environment.

This Company is expanding their business and growing continuously over 4 decades . Has 2 units across Canada and US Provides technically sound environment with lots of Challenges and Oppurtunities for the willing and able professionals

The boss leads from the front , very knowledgeable and dedicated in the betterment of the company . Sets a good example as a leader and mentors the team towards the targets 

People here are part of big family working together . The Management and Peers are professional and friendly. There is a good mix of very experienced & freshly trained work force

Internal Training Programs , Online documentations , Process and Procedures are efficiently executed . Weekly meetings , daily meetings are transparent and effective

Company provides learning potential and good office infrastructure

Its a wonderful place to work surrounded by positive people and Management. The best thing I enjoy about this job, its fast paced and the trust you earn when you actually do a decent job makes you feel more confident.There is a huge scope to learn out of box. 

An efficient management hierarchy is very easy to reach out and they are supportive to their employees. The long term benefits offered by the company is truly attractive and should be appreciated!

 If you are passionate about heavy engineering and Locomotives, this place can definitely provide you a great piece of knowledge.

Co-workers are supportive of each other and always ready to lend a helping hand when accomplishing a task 

The CEO and Management team are highly motivated and innovate in promoting and instilling constant cross training initiatives. 

The company has all the great qualities of Culture, Management, Career Advancement and Selfless people under a same roof.

Not a good company 

Kid pretending to be a boss- still has temper tantrums but he's daddy's son (owner) - no clue how to manage- can't stay on task and gets overly excited about what he is doing that day and forgets to follow through the next.  

Exploits new Canadians with below standard wage for their skills and then they get mad when people quit when they get a living wage somewhere else.

Bring people in to make changes then fire them shortly thereafter 

Bad culture- stay away

I’ve never worked for a company that’s as inclusive and diverse as this one. There are so many opportunities for growth and advancement. It is a great feeling being a part of the company that contributes to environmental improvement and contributes greatly to sustainability. Your hard work will never go unnoticed. The management makes sure to reward individual efforts and good performance. This is a stable, growing company with amazing opportunities for career growth.

This place honestly sucks. Under paid under paid under paidunder paid under paid under paid under paid under paid under paidunder paid under paidunder paid under paidunder paid under paid. The senior guys try to yell at you. Senor guys don't even get $20/much less. They'll move you around if where they place you  to work is not to their standards untill they finally ship you out the door. Oh and yea , you will be UNDERPAID....
