A typical start to the day would be prepping my forklift by checking the propane and everything else on the checklist for prep for a forklift. Then removing everything that came down the production line and organizing the warehouse with the product. Then receiving a pick list and prepping and loading it onto trailers. My manager was a power tripper that eventually lost his job for that exact reason. My co-workers were alright. I however was mainly on my own. The hardest part of the job was the pressure to get orders complete to be shipped. The positives would be I was able to be in control of the order and drove my own forklift. I had a little freedom.

I found the work on this job to be enjoyable. Fast paced, a little different everyday to change the routine was nice. 

But the management from the office to the floor was very poor. The only ones to advance were friends of the management, from those in office to the foremen on the main shop floor. All others they considered as disposable, and they did so almost on a regular routine.

I worked here for 3 years before deciding to return to school. I was able to come back and ask for work during the summers while I'm not attending classes. Management has treated me very well. The work is stable, 40hrs/week and you're treated very fairly. If you need a job I'd recommend working for Sherwood Industries, usually looking for employees.

Had a good relationship with coworkers and management. There was always something to do, help was there if needed. The hardest part was being to short to reach material. I learned how to make all different types of stoves; gas, wood, glass, pellet, etc. it was a good learning curve for me.

A good first welding job after the foundation course. It is production welding on a assembly line. MIG on thin plate or thick sheet steel. Good practice. The wage is on the low side but the job is easy. (cost of living in Victoria is high compared to the wage) The management is fine.

Great place to work, everyone was friendly. There were rumors of bullying and such but i never experienced it myself. great place to work if you are just starting out and want to learn skills. They will train you. The pay is decent and work itself is fine.

Its a good place to start for manufacturing work but personally think they lack giving benefits to their workers. Its a hard labour kind of work, operating different kind of heavy machineries.

After 3 years without a wage increase it became difficult to justify my time at Sherwood. I was constantly promised new opportunities that never materialized.

Use you then spit you out always firing or laying employees off.  Only loyalty to management not employees and this will never change well into and long past 2017, as been this way for years.

great place to work, ive worked 8 years there. ive learned alot about the manufacturing field and would like to further my experience in it.
