I love the people and the atmosphere at Sherwood Kia. A typical day here would be taking incoming calls and emails or making outgoing calls and emails, helping customers with all sorts of things whether it be showing them vehicles, helping them get to the correct department, negotiating numbers after a completed test drive, working with the sales managers and finance department to assure that the client is beyond satisfied. 

I have learned a lot about people (the ones I work along side, and of course my clients), there is a lot of psychology with this job and can be emotionally draining at times, which is probably what I would say is the most difficult thing about the job. You learn a lot about your own self when you are in a Sales position as well. Very interesting. The best part about the job I would think is reaching goals time after time. Setting targets and achieving them. One of the things I lacked a little before this job was discipline. You become very dependant on yourself when you work on commission and you learn to be your own hero. Which is very important in my opinion. 

My co workers were a very good support system, they are all in the same boat when it comes to being motivated and know that sometimes that motivation slips at times. We all help each other find that motivation again. It's really not like I thought it would be when I first started, I figured sales would seem like a shark tank where sales people would be fighting over customers. Having no prior experience in the industry I had very wrong assumptions. 

Over all, this was definitely my favorite job so far!

What is the best part of working at the company?
The other techs made it worth it. At the end of the day this ccompanydoesnt pay very well for warranty work. There is way to much of that with this brand. Especially when you have a motor job and the vehicle sits on your hoist for almost 4 weeks. Flat rate can be lucrative at times but there is absolutely NO guarantee to how much you can make. There were cmdays where I would make 11-12 hours a day then days where I'm sitting around doing nothing only pulling in 5 hours for the whole day. I also feel there was favoritism through how the work was dispatched. Service manager was the best service manager I've ever had the pleasure of working for. He goes the extra step to make sure your happy, obviously in my case it came down to hours and messed up paychecks. None of which was his fault whatsoever.  Over all kia was a great place to work but the flat rate system was what it was and warranty pay was ridiculous, I mean 6 hours to do a full engine removal in and out? Give me a break. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Flat rate pay structure and the warranty pay. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Great if your an apprentice. You get hourly pay up until your a journeyman. It was honestly sad knowing a full redseal technician made less than a 4th year tech.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Warranty, warranty ,warranty.

I enjoyed working in a fast-paced environment, where I felt welcome and secure in my position. I answered customer phone calls, and greeted customers when they entered the dealership. I also processed payments and maintained a clean and sanitary work environment. I enjoyed working with a variety of different people and building special bonds with all my coworkers and customers. The hardest part of my job was dealing with the service customers over the phone, simply because I was less informed about the service of our vehicles, but I always attempted to resolve the situation regardless of my lack of knowledge. The most enjoyable part of my job was meeting new people everyday, and being able to put a smile on each person's face when they walked through the door.

I have been an employee for this group going on 7 years. I started as a part-time detailer with no idea what I wanted to do in the future. I started to see the opportunity for advancement within Sherwood Kia, and my path became more clear, along with the incredible support and encouragement from the management team along with THE BEST GENERAL MANAGER, I was able to move up within my position and become a detailer manager. From detail manager, I had the opportunity to become a reconditioning manager, now I am a finance manager. The possibilities within this company really are endless. It is a very friendly and family-like environment. It is my second home. Everyone gets along, has fun, and helps each other become more successful!  

I have been at Sherwood Kia for almost 12 years in the service department, and I could not ask for a better group of people to work with, and for. When it comes down to this job, it is the same everywhere. Its the people that you work with that makes all the difference. The front end of parts and service is like its own little family, and its having those people by your side that make coming here every day worth it. Its is stressful, fast paced, long hour work in parts and service, no secret to anyone who has done it before. But when the members of your team all pull together around you, and you know you can count on them, and have some fun when doing it, it makes a tough job so much easier.

Sherwood Kia has been a great place to hoan in my sales game, learning valuable skills such as providing a top notch customer experience, learning how to solve and overcome customer objections creating win-win transactions, learning how to operate as part of a driven and goal oriented team, learning about the product Kia has to offer as well as it's competitors, and much more. The GM is a great, family oriented person and has everyone's back, while also pushing for top end performance in a productive and motivating fashion. 5/5

One of the best ever Dealerships ! Everyone from Sales to Finance ,service department and parts get along so well.  Much respect from all staff. Open door policy with all managers.  This little dealership has grown a lot over the years.  Many long term employees have found this their home and a part of a big family.  Overall a great place to work , grow and shine !!   There is also lots of kia courses that keep you on top of what’s new with the vehicles and customer service.  I have been very fortunate to work here.  All dealerships could take lessons from the fine management here. 

The management at Sherwood KIA is focused on providing the best service for their customers and creating a positive experience. Sherwood KIA does the right thing for customer and it has been an extremely positive place to work. We are consistently busy and there is always something to do. Co-workers are very willing to help and ensure you succeed in your role. We laugh and have fun everyday while making sure our customer needs are met in a timely and professional manner. I would recommend Sherwood KIA to anyone looking for a long-term career with a company whos true passion is ensuring their customers are taken care of.

Started in 2016 with little to no experience in sales , a Dealership enviroment . I would say Sherwood Kia is a place where you feel excited to come to work . There is a lot of room and oppurtunity to make a career in the industry if you would like to . This is a place where if you have a good work ethic . Positive Attitude and willingness to learn you will fit it ! 

All sides from service to sales to parts to reconditioning are managed very well with there respective employees and everyone is willing to help out and work towards a common goal . 

Sherwood Kia is a place to feel welcome

Other technicians are helpful and kind. Service advisors are lazy and lack the knowledge required to sell work. Service manager is lazy, and does no know the brand or care for the technicians. Only cares for dealer profit. Will not pay you fairly for jobs or diagnostic and advisors question every potential upsell resulting in a meeting with the manager telling you to stop trying to sell certain services or charging labour on certain jobs.
