Working on my own initiative for most part of the day, I had to manage my time carefully with work duties. 
I started at the firm working at reception, dealing with couriers, the switch board and making appointments for clients and lawyers. I progressed from there to working in office services which allowed me to get to know the staff and lawyers better. I had to learn and understand the operations of the mail room, work under pressure while photocopying, faxing, scanning court documents as well as maintain the machines and office supplies. From there I moved onto working the file management system. The variety of duties I carried out over my 4 and a half years led me to have an in depth understanding of the organisation and built great relationships with co-workers. 
My management were very helpful and I had an excellent relationship with my HR manager and the partners of the firm.
The most difficult part of my job was trying to track down former clients with material we no longer were legally obliged to obtain as some clients no longer existed or had changed addresses. 
The most enjoyable part of my job was the variety of duties and working at my own pace as well as well as interacting with the staff and clients.

I started working back in November for a position they knew I had absolutely no experience in and at least 3-4 weeks into the job it’s like they were irritated with me. 

I have never seen so much office politics. I felt out of place, I felt like I was doing everything wrong and everyday was just a constant reminder that I didn’t really how to do much because I didn’t have the experience.

The sad part is people around would make you feel bad and they would talk about you even if you were sitting 2 or 3 cubicles away ... 

They aren’t very considerate with much in that firm nor is management really fair or even reliable. 

I would travel 2 hours everyday to work just to feel like ultimate let down and feel like a failure because they thought sticking someone with no experience in that area of law would be easy , especially if training IS NOT PROVIDED PROPERLY ...

I’ve worked in better firms , I’d never think a firm like this would ever exist but the sad truth is , it does ...

I came to Shibley Righton LLP 20 years ago with a lawyer and law clerk from another firm.
When my former employer left the firm, he was not able to take me with him.  Human Resources and the Managing Partner found a position for me, for which I am very grateful.
The IT team are incredible.  Very knowledgeable and always available.
I have had the distinct  pleasure of working with an amazing group of people, some of which I have known for a short time and some for many years.  I cannot express how grateful I am for this life experience.
Throughout my career with Shibley, I have grown, I have learned and I am not the same person I was when I first started, I am better.
I have decided at this stage in my life I want to start a new chapter, and so I am retiring.

I worked here for 3 years. I started off as a part time office assistant and was able to advance to a full time position as a billing and condominium liens assistant. I learned so much in my time at the firm. Management and HR always gave me opportunities to learn and advance within the firm and were always extremely kind, helpful and accommodating. My time at the firm was very pleasant and my decision to leave was a difficult one because of how amazing HR, management and all of my coworkers were to me. I ultimately only left to pursue opportunities in my field of study. I would recommend working here to anybody looking for a long term position with the hopes of advancing and being exposed to opportunities in areas that may be new to them, but are interested in. 

I had a great experience at Shibley Righton. When I started, I had no experience, but staff were always patient and answered my questions as I learned what was expected of me. As I grew more experienced, the difficulty level of my work increased, so I was always able to grow. I worked in a variety of capacities and enhanced my skills. Staff and management were always warm, willing to help, and accommodating.

I am so glad I started here. The breadth of experiences I was able to have, and the welcoming environment I was able to have them in, were an invaluable part of my career. 


2 groups of lawyers in the group, new group  of lawyers who joined the firm in 2018 horrible to work with.  The Lawyer who claims he is the  head of the group knows nothing and is scared of one of the newer lawyers.  

Lien coordinator is nothing but a dictator.  She is in cohorts with management, and she is not well liked by staff.

HR is a huge embarrassment for the firm with lousy people skills.  She does not have any knowledge on how to communicate well with staff.  She has no HR education.

This company is an amazing place to work for many reasons! I've learned so much here, the people are great, and there are many opportunities for advancement and growth! I am extremely sad to leave my wonderful team, but know they will do great! This is a great place to work and learn, and the positions given really make you feel like a valued member of the firm.

It's a nice experience to work at Shibley. People are very professional, nice, and patient. I have learned a lot in this job, not only the job skills but also the way to deal with difficulties and to cooperate with colleagues. If you are looking for a warm working environment and wish to grow in your career, Shibley would be a great choice. 

Management are a joke, HR an even bigger one.

If you ever get hired by them make sure you have a proper job designation or they'll throw whatever they feel like at you and say "it's part of your job".

I can't believe I wasted 5 good years of my life working for this "company".

Good experience and I learned much with respect to the corporate side of the firm.  Most enjoyable part - dealing with corporate clients, and keeping boss happy.
