Shine Window and Eaves Cleaning

As a former employee of this window cleaning company, I feel it’s important to share my experience. I worked here for several months, and honestly, it was a nightmare. The management is disorganized and doesn't seem to care about either the employees or the customers. There was constant miscommunication between the office and the field teams, which led to a lot of unnecessary delays and frustrated clients.

The equipment was always in poor condition, and we were expected to make do with tools that were either broken or extremely outdated. It made the job more difficult, and the quality of work suffered as a result. We were often rushed, given unrealistic time frames to complete jobs, and sometimes had to skip steps just to get through the day. This led to sloppy work, leaving windows streaked and dirty.

There were also major safety concerns. We were sent out on jobs without proper training or proper safety gear, and the company didn't seem to care about ensuring that we were equipped to work in a safe manner. A few of my coworkers had close calls, but management's response was always dismissive.

Lastly, the pay was lousy, and I never felt valued as an employee. There were no benefits, and the hours were inconsistent, which made it really difficult to plan my life. If you're thinking about hiring this company, I strongly recommend you look elsewhere. It's clear they care more about cutting corners than actually providing a good service.



Working for this company has been one of the most exhausting jobs I’ve had. You’re constantly sent all over the city—sometimes even outside of it—which can mean starting your day as early as 4 a.m. and not getting home until 8 p.m. The compensation does not match the amount of physical and mental effort required, especially considering the revenue you’re helping bring in.

There’s a serious lack of support from management. Instead of guidance or encouragement, you’re often met with belittling comments or dismissiveness. It creates a toxic atmosphere that wears you down quickly.

While the best part of the job is the occasional great team of coworkers and the positive energy they bring, that rarely lasts. You’re constantly being switched to different crews, making it hard to form real connections or any sense of team cohesion.

There are no benefits, no job security, and absolutely no room for growth. The company is run by a tight-knit group of friends who keep all the higher positions within their circle, leaving everyone else stuck in entry-level labour roles with no path forward.

Overall, this company is disorganized, unprofessional, and unsustainable if you’re looking for a job that values your time, effort, or well-being.

You will hate Shine if you are looking for a job just for a paycheck. The culture of this organization is to push yourself as far as you can and eventually go further. Your goal will be to learn and improve every day as much as possible. Both at work and on your free time you’ll find yourself growing and wanting more. Being a small business, often you are in very directly involved in daily situations and overall system creations and you will have a direct impact on the things you’re working on so the ability to take criticism and open accountability is a must.  This is more than most jobs require, but if you can come to the table with this, the fruit they give is amazing.  They look for young people who want more in their life, and if you can prove it, they are willing to give you that. We also work very closely so it’s  very much a team environment built on honesty, accountability, and hard work ethic. 

Management team is very supportive of workers and are willing to put in the time to develop you into different positions by expanding your skill set. If you are goal orientated and want to see results in your career this is 100% somewhere you want to work. The management team has a wealth of knowledge and are willing to teach it all to you. 

I left a job where I felt like a number if I did a great job nobody noticed but if I made one small mistake it was the highlight of the day. At Shine Windows they celebrate the wins and use the mistakes as learning opportunities to grow from. It feels like family! 

Between super fun interactions with clients, learning the in's and outs of the company and their equipment such as the different sanders and grit paper, oils and paints, as well as the techniques of window washing, and the caring and supportive management, it's an amazing environment! The hardest part for me would be the math, thankfully my coworkers have my back and help out whenever needed. The most enjoyable part would have to be getting outside and working with my hands! Highly recommend Shine to anyone looking for a stable and growing career. 

I have found the management team at Shine Windows to be exceptional when it comes to cultivating their culture and maintaining an open door policy throughout the company from top to bottom. The communication and accountability is off the charts compared to other industries I've experienced. They are very direct with expectations but don't micromanage and everyone has growth mindset, which is incredibly refreshing. It can be very fast paced and high pressure but for those who rise to the challenge, it is very rewarding to be a part of such a powerhouse team of people.

Days are long, but they fly by. I am constantly moving and learning. 

The standards are high and we are always held accountable, which I really appreciate because it allows me to grow, but it is not for everyone.

The job is fast-paced and challenging.

My favourite thing about working here is that there is always more room to grow.

Working at Shine made me understand why company culture is so important. The management team invested  themselves in my growth at work and helping me with my personal life.  I was empowered to improve and had the opportunity for constant salary growth . 

I learned how to be a team player and add value to the company.

Everyone is judged based on their merit rather than seniority. If you deserve a raise, you get one.

The owners actually care about everyone and want you to succeed.
