A Typical Day at Work
A typical day involves reviewing financial reports, reconciling accounts, analyzing transactions, and preparing financial statements. There are often meetings with colleagues or management to discuss financial planning, budgeting, or discrepancies in records. Depending on deadlines, the workload can fluctuate, especially during month-end or tax season.

What I Learned
Working in accounting provides strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a deeper understanding of financial regulations. I’ve also learned how to use ERP systems efficiently and automate tasks in Excel, making processes more efficient. Effective communication is also key when explaining financial data to non-financial stakeholders.

Management
Management plays a crucial role in setting the tone for the workplace. Supportive managers provide guidance, training opportunities, and constructive feedback. In contrast, micromanagement or unclear expectations can make the job frustrating. Good leadership recognizes employees' efforts and encourages professional growth.

Workplace Culture
The workplace culture depends on the company's values and team dynamics. A positive culture promotes collaboration, work-life balance, and open communication. In contrast, a toxic work environment can lead to burnout and decreased motivation. A good team makes even challenging tasks manageable.

The Hardest Part of the Job
One of the biggest challenges is handling tight deadlines and large amounts of data with high accuracy. Month-end and year-end closing can be stressful, requiring long hours. Adapting to changing regulations or new software can also be demanding.

The Most Enjoyable Part of the Job
The most rewarding part is problem-solving and finding financial insights that help businesses make better decisions. Automating processes or identifying cost-saving opportunities brings a sense of accomplishment. A supportive team and good workplace relationships also make the job enjoyable.


There was no parking available at all while management had allocated the best spots for their own cars. In from of the entrance door 4 office employees were working in 6 sq. ft. cubical and they could not even move around. The director's office was about 10 sq.ft.
From all above you could guess the higher management's financial concepts.
The majority of interview was about financial saving related to visible cost and no management skill set questions at all. I am very happy that they did not accept my salary expectation. Also they promised me to show me their both plants but they did not. When I was looking for parking I realized back the facility was very dirty with bad smell which reflects the managers' money saving concepts.

I have had the opportunity of working for Sierra Custom Foods for the past 8 years. I was originally hired as a Shipping/Receiving Supervisor and now find myself in the position of Training and Processing Compliance Manager. Growth and Opportunity is unlimited here. Over the years I have seen the Company transform many times keeping pace with our Customers changing needs and demands. This has been one of the most exciting aspects of working  for Sierra. I love coming to work everyday and interacting with the Team. There is a wide range of talent here with an atmosphere of collaboration and understanding. Not just a great place to work but fantastic.

 Pretty much each and every one of my coworkers are very unhappy. Management is unsupportive, demanding, uncaring for associates.  Your job is never guaranteed. There is often talk of being threatened with disciplinary actions or your job being removed. Gossip runs rampant. Employees don’t share the workload and the few are left to pick up the slack. This place is best made for a summer job or when you just need something. Not worthy of making it your career or devoting a lot of time and effort to. Newly promoted VP is garbage.

having to cross train from too many places and departments, more than one is already enough
encouragement in learning above and beyond

- management is nice and supportive 
- annual raise and bonus, office parties and free lunches, employee group outings and bbq parties, free coffee, gas and expense reimbursement, group benefits 
- excellent manager/ controller i worked with
- extremely fast pased on most days of the week, fridays are chill
- need to hire more people (they can afford, they are expanding) so that existing employees get help and have more work life balance 
- overall my experience working with Sierra was great


I have been with Sierra for 5 years in a Sales Role. During these 5 years the company has undergone substantial growth and it has been exciting and rewarding to be part of this evolution. 
As with any company there has been challenges at times however the Management Team has worked hard to address and overcome these issues as they arise.
I would recommend Sierra as a sales person as you have access to the tools and support to be successful

I have been with Sierra for about 4 months now and It has been quite a journey for me to understand and learn the core concepts of professionalism and technicals aspects of my job responsibilities. The management is very encouraging and also enthusiastic to share thoughts and insights. 

This company help me to get my college fees and i made many good friends during work. All management are very helpful and friendly. All supervisors teach their employees about shipping, receiving and processing the products.
