Day starts with reporting the bank balances. Check the previous days invoices and review the previous days collection. Attend to creating and maintaining item, customer and vendor data bases. Check the batches and approve for posting Analyse ten general ledger accounts daily on a continuous basis. Do the bank reconciliation and send short term forecast to the stake holders. Negotiate with vendors regarding the business terms. Oversee Government reporting.  Train new staff wth various accounting modules and retrain existing staff as required. Handle all issues and ensure smooth functioning of business activities from the finance side.

Negotiation skills and to work with high stress levels are the best traits i learned in this organisation.

Hardest part of the job is to work under considerable stress levels for extended period of time.

And the most enjoyable part of the job is my capacities being challanged on a regular basis.

I wanna warn all of you. Do not work here. Lot of politics and cheaters out there. Packaging manager kept my money in his pocket. They are worst with agency employees. Less pay rate and more workload. Night shift sucks. Never work at this place its gonna waste your time and money. Moreover it is a dirty foodplace. Sometimes Production employees fell cheese by mistake on the dirty floor full of chemicals and bacteria, and same cheese is sent to customers. One more interesting thing about this place, buying a different flavours of Silani cheese is a LIE because its all the same cheese with different coloured packings.

I strive for challenges and this is definitely one the roles that keeps me on  my toes.  I've learned in this role that anything is possible if you have a positive attitude and put your mind to it.  The Senior Management worked very well with changes and our coworkers are very happy with the implemented changes.  The hardest part of this position was being flexible and readily available 24 hours 7 days a week due to the nature of the business.  The  most enjoyable part of this position was being able to positively influence our team members with engagement to implement changes.

Steady employment but not a great work environment.  

The other employees were great to work with but the administration was over-bearing and critical.

The workload was more than I could do in a day and I was always behind.  It was impossible to do a days' work and try to catch up on the outstanding reconciliations.

Workplace culture was male-oriented and women's rights were not equally addressed.  

The most enjoyable part of the job was the actual work - the accounts payable duties.

Working at Silani was different day to day on a quarterly basis. I learned chain of command, customer development skills, and worked with many great professionals. The hardest part of the job was the travel around Ontario. Also made it enjoyable assisting customers of all different sizes.

Rotational shift 40 hours in week
Practical implementation of prerequisite program required for the implementation of HACCP and SQF 
Coworkers have good understanding each others
Some time call any time no regularity of time is some how difficult for me 
No product defect in the market/ No micro fail of the product

There are opportunities to learn and grow within the company.  The operation is usually 7 days a week and maintenance is rotating.  Very rewarding and satisfying to be appreciated for the work we do.

I rate it a 3 out of 5. Good place to work just ramp up period was slow.
Silani is in a rebuild mode with new ownership that is very enthusiastic about the business and wants carry the 60 years of family tradition

worst company to work with.  cannot be trusted. poor management. No work culture. compromised quality and unsafe product. Never buy such products from this company. So much Manipulation in quality by Management.

Love working at silani sweet cheese, very safe , fun and, friendly environment. The managements are great people and they give you the chance to learn the job and always ofer you a better position
