the job seems very easy on paper and it’s great if you have friends there as moral support but the mangers will not treat you nicely and be very passive aggressive to you. every time you go into a shift and you do a great job they will never acknowledge it and then one tiny slip up they make you an entire villain. that’s how i felt working there of course it’s different for everyone. with me specifically i have very VERY bad anxiety and leg problems and requested times to sit down and times to breathe when it is not busy but they have not respected that and when i’m having a whole panic attack in the back ON MY LAST DAY TOO one of the managers told me to stop crying and go back on till. and then when i was calm they told me to go home. they do that a lot. over staff and then cut people that would be a burden. the place stinks (then again it’s also the employees fault for that because we don’t do deep cleans) but specifically the garbages are so horrendous. we had no benefits whatsoever and the only thing making me go to work was seeing friends. literally that’s what kept me for a month before quitting. also our only benefits are literally FREE TICKETS and we barely get any AND they EXPIRE. tbh if i work at a theatre i’d expect to at least not have the tickets expire. also since it is our only benefit, you’d expect managers be happy to give them to you. NOPE! they roll their eyes and then give it to you sighing and you as a cast member always feel either afraid to ask or will not ask until someone else does because of the attitude of the managers when u do ask. i don’t recommend working here. 

A typical day at work is very busy, learned how to give the best guest (customers) service and solving problems when present them selves. I've also learned how to manage my time between guests(customers) services, helping out the cast members with their problems and stock pulls. The management is very kind and caring for all the cast member (employees) and guests(customers). Also, every new cast members that arrives and starts at Silver city is greeted with kindness and a helping if needed, all of the cast members respect one and other and pure need to assist each other in any task. The hardest part of the job is having to lift extremely heavy boxes and bags over my head. The most enjoyable part of the job is to deliver with passion an exception experience for  the guests (customers)

What I loved about my job at SIlvercity Cineplex was the employees, my co-workers.  Everyone had a great attitude and a great sense of humour.  The type of environment at Silvercity said "work hard but make friends".  This environemnt really attracted fun people who were willing to be friendly just as much as work hard.  I enjoyed my experience at Silvercity as it allowed me to do what I love to do most - communicate with others.  Being part of the "movie enjoyment" experience was exciting.  One of the hardest parts of my job was dealing with my managers; they never seemed half as happy as the employees.  The most enjoyable part of my job was seeing the friends I created while I worked.

As a cast member you can be allocated in specific areas around the theatre, some of them with little to no training, but they expect you to perform them in specific procedures hardly detailed. Management team often has conflicting decisions which could be easily fixed if they properly aligned themselves. Schedules are also often done poorly. The salary is minimum and never gets raised. The position lacks on good leadership where you don't get much motivation and proper training.

It is overall a good job! I made a lot of friends since I started working here, one thing i dont like is the tasks we are sometimes forced to do on the down times that have nothing to do with working at a movie theatre. For example one time it was not a really busy day and I had to go outside and get a brush and a bucket and just brush the walls outside. I also once had to clean the garbage chute outside in cold weather and me and 2 other cast members that did it with me didnt get recognized. You barely get any shifts, if the person making the schedule likes you then you will get a lot of shifts. The only good thing I like about this job is the people that work there.

I would say it’s a great first job but it’s hard to advance in the company and I’ve been told usually it’s not worth advancing anyways. You work with a lot of people your own age highschool/college/university students so it can be really fun. But, with any customer service job it has its challenges and it’s mentally draining.

I worked at SilverCity Cineplex for a couple years as a theater attendant and enjoyed it. I was a teenager and it was just my second job, my co-workers were great, customers were always in a good mood and fairly positive. Did some light cleaning after movies were finished, nothing hard. Got discount on food and able to watch many movies for free. Fun times!

It's an easy first job and the fellow cast members are all very friendly. However, there is hardly any room for growth in terms of both your position and pay. The thing that makes it the worst though would be the managers. Most of them talk to cast in a condescending manner and treat us with little to no respect.

It’s not a job I’d recommend for visible minorities. Unfortunately, you will most likely have to put up with racial comments from co-workers and guests. Your complaints may also fall on deaf ears, as the managers are not well versed to handle these kinds of issues in the workplace.
