Very poorly managed company with a toxic culture. Politics and cliques dominate the workplace, and many employees are more focused on protecting themselves than doing quality work. Issues are rarely resolved—leaders will tell you what you want to hear but don’t follow through.

Inexperienced and makes costly decisions that impact jobs and morale. The environment is unprofessional, distrustful, and unstable. Not a healthy place to build a career.


Lead Operator couldn’t operate a wet paper bag. But also couldn’t put down the bottle either

The people in our field office.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Lay off through out the company, year after year.



What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
As it was a small town office of a very large company, I would say it was casual yet we had to report to Calgary.  



What is a typical day like for you at the company?
For me there was always work to do.

Great people to work with. Good culture overall with lots of work life balance. Great benefits and vacation time. Interacted with other departments and good work ethic encouraged.  Enjoyable part of the day was assisting department with costing and project management. Talking to the contractors in the field and cultivating a good working rapport with them. Learned about pipelines and facilities, equipment, monitoring costs and reporting.

Main management is located in China
-few trip to locations for review
-most reviews only took pictures of nature and had no interest in operations
-poor development of operation and inspection programs
-no directions
-no input until money had to be spent then budgets were cancled with no explinations
-best part of the job was leaving

Calgary people do not care about field staff and blind side employee's when laying them off. Local staff is great and treat everyone with respect and loyalty but their hands are tied when dealing with Calgary.

I worked as a short term consultant but in general workplace culture at Sinopec was good. I was provided with the tools I need to do the job. Everyone welcomed audit as an opportunity for improvement.

Good working assets within Alberta. Good core group of oil and gas professionals. Good operating areas and land holdings with potential to grow in a better oil and gas investment climate.

Very reasonable workload.  Great training.  Always lots to learn.  People were very friendly.  The pay was great!  Vacation time was amazing.  Enjoyed the staff times.

Good work hours, learn tons of info always putting on lunch and learns, Good team of managers, Best part of the job was always pushed to do better.

The OnG is good when its good. Lots of free things when its good, when its bad we all get laid off... all in all a great place to work. Good people, and great atmosphere.
