Sleeman Centre

Im going to be honest. I loved this job when I first started working here. Even though it was really long hours, I liked the people I worked with and made good money. Every season you get re-eveluated if they want you to work there again. They will let you go with no explantion and short notice, having you scramble to find another job. The mangment sucks, snobby, rude and dis-organized. You never know what's going to happen there and if your job will be on the line or not. If you like stability, this is not the place to work. Recently this place has just gone down hill, they are trying to make everything better, though they are making everything worse. I am still touch with alot of people who work there, and they are HATING it now. Serouisly take my word and dont work here. 

2 types of work areas
 - Rink side
 - Kitchen
Kitchen was standard work for a line cook, prep orders in relation to the customers and constantly clean your station
Rink side was to constantly make food, pizza, fries, hot dogs and chicken strips for the intermissions and during the game.
Work was fast paced and you would have to help bring in supplies from the delivery area.
The co workers were very friendly and helpful and you were given a break when the opportunity was given. You are even given a free lunch/dinner for your hard work.
The job even included a free certification for food safety.

A decent job, though there were so many of us hired no one got enough hours. Things became very disorganized in terms of upper management being switched around, and our hours were changed (which were not doable for me, unfortunately leading to my resignation with no alternative offered.) Very friendly coworkers, relatively easy job, but it was very noisy and crowed, often leading to migraines.

This job is pretty easy, fast paced, easy to make good money. Only issue is some of the servers who have been there a lot longer than others have banded together in a very tight knit friend group, making first impressions a little hard to maneuver - it gets slightly better over time, but you're best to make friends with the newer servers rather than the older ones.

I clock in, set up my concession, then sell, restock, and close. Prepare things in advance, you can never be to carful. Management is good, always on top of things. Hardest part of the job for me would be not knowing who will be working for me that shift. Co-workers and food after.

Constantly busy and running up and down to go get things. Have to pull a cart through tons off people which is quite a pain and often had security help me get through. Coworkers were really nice.  

I did most of my volunteer hours here and I loved it, I grew up watching hockey so I was very comfortable n this environment. I got experience with handling money and video recording the games and following the puck.

Positive work environment. Supportive staff

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
It gets busy, your whole section could sit at once, but the team offers help and you get through it

i learned if you are the last one to enter the doors for your shift, you would be the last to leave. the first part of the friday shift is usually laid back because there is all dy to prep food for the next day

I love this as a side job. Great management and super fun place to work. Always a fun Hockey or basketball game to host and the odd concert too! Co workers are awesome! Totally recommend Sleeman Centre.
