Smashers demolition

At job site for 6 am,  each job site i would do a "tool box talk", "hazard assessment" and audit to keep our COR certification, 
for new employees i would have to make sure i got all their information and put them into our system, show them what we expect in each individual we hire and how to recognize unsafe work,.
if any working from heights was to be done i would have to head down to job site and do a fall arrest inspection making sure everyone was able to be safe, also checking that they are certified to be working above 8 ft,
on asbestos job sites i would have to fully suit and mask up enter the containment area and make sure everyone within the premises was following legislation and working safe, and to new employees i would have to do a "fit test" making sure their mask was sealed properly and that they had a clean shaved face.
each and every day was different but my role was to make sure everyone was working safe.

Smashers demolition has a habit of cutting deadlines in half resulting in stressful work conditions making everything more fast paced.  As an employee  ive had my employment threatened if I refused to do unsafe work. They will promise a generous bonus but the management will purposely damage  equipment  so they dont have to pay the promised bonus

Working at smashers your always worrying about being laid off or having work the next day, company has no money but continue to hire more people that they can't keep/ afford. Foreman is alright but can lose his cool over a pen being missing and send you home just because you had it last. I would never recommend someone for a job here.

i moved up very quick with smashers they have been a great company to work for we get the occasional pizza lunch and early day being put into leadership has taught me alot and im excited for what leadership positions the world holds for me

working for this company wasnt bad at the start, the wages werent good but the coworkers and day to day experiences made it fun. all in all the bosses were good guys and maybe its gotten better since a few years ago.

i liked this job because it was fun and good to learn about good workers good hours and lots of work . worked in different areas of the city willing to work a pick up and drop off fee for you and always willing to teach new people.

Learned a lot of new tips and tricks on how to do the job, all hands on, no brain activity needed. Very laidback on safety. Good people to work with, until one person gets negative and ruins the whole workplace.

Smashers overall was a good environment to work in but there is some things that they could change, me as an employee I was safe with what I do but not everyone else has the same mindset. 


getting to be the guy responsible for cleaning out asbestos and knowing it bettered someones life. demoing buildings and smashing thing was always a great time.

I am a hard working woman in a male industry. 
I work hard everyday and will learn something as well. I am looking for a full or part time work at nights as I am currently working a day job.
