Arrive a few minutes early to get dressed into the work uniform. Swipe in and set up at station. Get to work as soon as set up is done. Work until a few minutes until eating time, tidy your own station up and go eat. Finish eating within the time limit, which was half an hour and go back to station and work until the end. Washroom breaks are not controlled. I feel the company is well managed and well organized. Co-workers are nice. The hardest part of the job is definitely the demanding numbers that had to be met everyday. The most enjoyable part about he job is definitely the experience, which is also what I have learned and that is the value of money, and the hard work that needs to be done and the respect for my parents whom have been doing hard work their entire life for me.

• Conducted a variety of computer-automated tests on manufactured boards for final verification before packaging.
• Assembled electronic print boards by reading drawings and ensuring that components were properly installed.
• Closely followed instructions to program integrated circuits prior to installing on PCB’s.
• Maintained a tidy work area according to company health and safety standards.
• Volunteered to lead the team through stretch breaks during evening shifts to maintain productivity level.

Was at Nortel when they sold us to Solectron - overnight everything was nickel and dimed. Best practices were often thrown out the window in favour of saving a buck or two. Company often demanded overtime and a feverish pace.
Eventually the shut down our plant and moved work overseas to low-cost manufacturing centres, laying off thousands...

We were Nortel one day, Solectron the next. Suddenly our friends were our customers we had to adjust to this quickly we learned, Things were tough at first but we learned to adjust and as such we learned to get better.

Easygoing but productive environment.
Learned a lot about inventory methodologies
Friendly and mentoring management style.
Culture was heavily biased on Quality output rather the quantity.
Must pass Quality control audits.
The almost absent work pressure made it enjoyable to work at Nulogix/Solectron

This job would be great for anyone, except for people that have/had family
they judge everyone as a number and the company needs come before anyone elses

Working in Solectron was my first job after I came in Canada. Because of my education background and working experience, I was good at dandling  my job.  employees came  from different culture background worked harmonically.

Excellent rapport  with management, one company paid for in amusement park  for kids   Canada's wonderland

Good teamwork and management support. Very positive workplace, with focus on employees growth, safety and self development. Not quite supportive of contractors.

The training was ALSO PROVIDED  in all facets of the company's SMT
production,
