Typical Day at work:
-Clock in via pen/paper
-Do the duties assigned with your job title (grill cooks make food and keep grill area clean, clean their dishes when its not busy).
-If possible people would help each other out. (teamwork)
-(continue until close)
- Follow through with closing procedures (sweeping/mopping the floors, taking out the recycle/garbages, clean the friers and grill,
make sure all dishes are cleaned, and M.O.Ds and dress people make sure the stock/inventory is good for the next day).
-Clock out, and you're done.

I learned how to cook a burger, how to use a grill and how to work as part of a team.

Management was nice, no problems, very helpful and welcoming, also made sure rules and food safety rules were followed.

The co-workers were a team capable of fulfilling the jobs requirements and expectations while also being happy and having a good time. 

Hardest part of the job was definitely a rush, when people were lined up to - and sometimes passed/outside - the door. Getting everything out on time became harder during a rush because more is being dealt with.

Most enjoyable part of the job was working with a great team, and almost feeling like working at a home away from home. (the atmosphere)

Good first job, although so many responsibilities for minimum wage. One worker will dress and wrap burgers, bring food to tables, clean a huge work area and throw several heavy garbage bags in a shift. Under staffing is bad and frequent, even to the point where customers ask where all my coworkers are. Several times during my work period I was one of two workers out (the other on the grill)  and have gotten several customers come in. I would have to ring their order through cashier, dress their burger, wrap and bring it to the table which is insane when there is a lineup. Getting a closing shift is the worst as you have to clean a huge work area, sweep, mop, Windex and wash dishes depending on how the position, when a morning shift does not. 

Job is a ton of work for the pay, i would rather work at a walmart or sobeys

Typical day at work constituted of a mixture between a day in the life of a cashier at McDonalds and a sandwich maker from subway, except it was burgers and milksakes. The female workers were not permited to cook, that was the role of the male worker. In saying that, the female workers held the responsibilty of putting the condiments on the burgers, making milkshakes, and cleaning. Managment was also an all male team; and with a staff of 95% the same ethnicity as managment. No free meals were permited, instead 50% off, and 1 free drink per 3 hours excluding milkshakes. No benifits except those in management.

Overall, SSBC was a fun work environment and the team membership is amazing. Everyone is super friendly and it isn't even like you are working with co-workers; rather, more like an SSBC family (this is located at Sunrise Plaza). On the other hand, management is quite poor and sometimes quite disorganized. Head office enjoys swerving around the company and business's issues and working their way around certain things.

shifts can be morning from 10-4, evening from 4-10 or all day from 10-10 depending on the position held. i learned to work in a rapid fire environment and how to focus under pressure. management can be biased sometimes. manager wants "pretty Looking people" working the front line. dealing with a temperamental manager is probably harder than dealing with temperamental customers. the end of shift is what every worker looks forward to from the start of shift

I'm a cashier at the Avenue and Lawrence location; currently working at the Leaside location. My management is fair and understanding. My co-workers are sympathetic and attentive and enthusiastic. The hardest part of the job is working on cash during rush hour. However, I am able to push through an perform my assigned take with enthusiasm and effectiveness. My favourite part of the job is closing. We get to socialize and plan in a very relaxed atmosphere.

open the store, prepare the fryer and grill and all the things that you need in just 1 hour before opening. i learned how to work fast and become responsible to my job and nice management. i love working with my co-workers, they are my best team. the hardest part of the job is cutting hours nowadays and it's hard to prepare everything especially in opening the store. the most enjoyable part is working together as a team during rush hour.

I wouldn’t suggest working here. Hostile environment. Not much respect for the employees unless you literally suck up to them and go in for every single shift they call you for that’s not on your schedule. 

Manager was super nice, 50% burgers can sometimes be a health hazard for you cuz you'll wanna eat a lot. When its not busy and the place is clean you can eat fries and catch up with your co workers. If youre lucky you can get the burgers free :)

There is no real communication between the team. Coworkers would walk away to go on their phone leaving all the orders to be made by one person during the busiest rushes. Constantly flooded with work with no time to clean or do anything else. Management was a whole seperate issue.
