Not a good place to work. 
Never received the 2-week training I was promised and was expected gasp the operation of the programs on my own.  I had to figure out the whole production process on my own. No one showed me the break down of the product labels. 

No support from the US. 
No workbooks cheat sheets or information cards. Constant lockout of the network was painful and IT support was rude and unresponsive.

Chicago and Toronto team are horrible to work with. If you have a problem they let you sink. If they do respond back to you it is 2 or 3 days later. 

To make matter worst when they do respond back the person was is panic rush and told to verbal very fast how to fix the program lock or they would tell me I don't have time to show you and send it to IT to fix overnight. This never showed me how to get out of the problem and how to fix it.

Toronto office plays the blame game blames everyone else for the problems. Love to send the email to everyone on your team and throw you under the bus and continuously driver over you. Never ask in private if you know about some of the details of the Workflow. Or actual attempt to teach you what to do. 

The company does not value it, employees, it has the Millennium mentality that you can be replaced tomorrow. And they do in a heartbeat.

Workplace culture
No teamwork here every one is out for themselves.
Most of the employees are Insecure make sure they don't share information. It is a knowledge power situation, the less you know the less value you are to the company and can be let go at any time. 

Management is very unprofessional, with no guidance all about money and the client. They tend to side with the client even if the client is yell at you and does not know what she is talking about.
Each project is a is panic mode the marketing rep sit on the project and then push the limits to get the project done on time.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Our satelite office was closed with the promise that all employees would keep their jobs. 2 weeks later, through a cold hearted, unconcerned zoom call, I was told "The company is going in a different direction and no longer requires your service" and a couple other cliche phrazes and was let go; The only dismissed employee from this office. Mine and other North American prepress technicians jobs were sent overseas. Dedicated, rewarded employees hold no value at SGS.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Deadlines, but by no means debilitating

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Not knowing this question was coming, see above.

I was poorly trained, the person that I was being trained by quit, the guy that usually trained was away. The person who trained me in the end had no patience in training anyone. I work day and night and weekend I put my family on hold. Never took a holiday or sick day. Management is very unsupportive. Management is down right rude and unprofessional. I received a really mean email from the manager that was unnecessary. So many people quit within the first month I was there because they were so unhappy. You don't get promoted in this company. The diverse culture team were all white, which was shocking.

Fun place to work with lots of variety in work. You will have a full plate because they have most brands out there as clients. They are leaders in the prepress business as they have the best IT team, so they are always current and looking to the future and are set up to be super efficient. They have the best colour management and image manipulation which means the customer is getting the best. 

A very busy and demanding work place with tight timelines and often unrealistic requests from clients. You get to work with very creative teams and it's a very collaborative work environment. Some department heads are full of them selves and shouldn't be leading a team. work/life balance could be better - lots of expectation to work evenings and weekends without     overtime pay. hardest part of the job is keeping up with client expectations while providing quality work under very tight budgets and timelines. 

I worked for this company for many years.
At the beginning it was good. The company got too big for itself and doesn't care about employees. You are always being watched or bullied and you will be replaced in a heartbeat. Lots of conflict. Very stressful environment to work in.
Too many high priced managers.
No cost of living and I went 8 years without a raise.
Stay clear of here.

I had my internship at SGSco which taught me many things about Project Management, Teambuilding, and responsibility. I worked alongside some of the most hardworking people I have ever met and love what they do. They are passionate about the little things and strive to make everyone's lives better. The work can be tough but does have its advantages.

They have a convoluted internal digital job manager that is so difficult to learn. Management never once encouraged me or took proactive measures to ensure I was trained properly. I was bumped from account to account.

Promises of a Green program, free yoga etc., were all promised when I was hired and slowly, they took all the perks away.

Awful. Bad management.

A good company with benefits. But lacks management and communication between departments. 
Low chance to get higher salary, no room for growth. The biggest problem is not having any room for creativity.
People are easygoing and professional.
Sick days are low but good amount of vacation days.

I worked at SGS before. The Head Director of the operation decided a great way to improve the operation would be to fire one person every two weeks, which he did. He would decide who was the weakest and would single that person out and fire them. Everyone kept looking over their shoulder.
